We’re happy the club has pledged to carry on with the Ciderspace name, it’s absolutely the right thing to do. But, Ciderspace was famously and fiercely independent, with no ads, no sponsors or any of that guff that modern local media depends on.

We think to retain the Ciderspace name and slap a brand in there (if one comes along) is not in keeping with the spirit of it’s legacy.

This all stemmed from two things, wanting to preserve the Ciderspace Fan Zone name and wanting to club together to raise the money to support the club, after all that’s what we are all here for. So, with that partially done, we’re going to continue to try and reach the target of £6k.

One for the calendars!

Yeovil Town have a pre-season match with National League North side Merthyr Town on Tuesday July 14th. With a 7:30pm kick off scheduled.

In this episode of The Glovers Past, Ben and Ollie sit down with a towering Huish Park fan favorite: former Yeovil Town centre-back Paul Huntington. Joining the club in 2010 after a frustrating, injury-hit spell at Leeds United, Paul reflects on how his two-year stint in Somerset revitalised his love for the game and got his career back on track.

From the initial culture shock of Huish Park’s training facilities to earning the captain’s armband in his early twenties, “Hunts” takes us on a nostalgic journey through a highly memorable League One era for the Green and Whites.

Yeovil Town Women manager Dave Court

Yeovil Town Women manager Dave Court has spoken about the ambition to strengthen the club’s women’s programme following their title success.

The Glovers became South West Regional Division One South Champions at the weekend – their second league title in three seasons.

Yeovil competed in the Women’s Super League – the top flight of women’s football – as recently as 2019, but a merger with Bridgewater Town left the club without a women’s team until a relaunch in January 2023.

“We’re trying to develop a programme that young girls want to come and be part of,” Court said.

“What Yeovil Town Women have achieved in the past is incredible and we’ve taken a small step. I’d just like it to be an inspiration to the girls of the future.

“Yeovil is a big name and it deserves a good women’s set-up, and we’ll do everything we can to continue that in the future.”

Court, who holds a UEFA A Licence, was appointed ahead of the 2025/26 campaign following the departure of Paul Knight, who had led the team to promotion in 2024.

“In pre-season I spoke to a couple of ex-players, and I think it was really important for me coming in to get a feel for what had gone before.

“I was very aware that we had to do the right thing by those people as well, and hopefully they’ll be proud of us.”

The title was sealed after a winner-takes-all clash with second-placed Weston-super-Mare, with a point from a 1–1 draw enough to seal the title.

“I’m so proud of the girls, first and foremost for the shift they’ve put in, and to be honest it’s been the same since that first training session in July.

“This title was won on nights when it was pouring with rain and windy, and the players still turned up and trained. The real hard work has gone on when nobody’s been watching.”

It’s the must-listen awards show of the year, it’s the Glovies. Ian and Ben take you through the categories and dish out the awards for 2025/26.

Yeovil Town Women became league Champions after drawing 1-1 with second-placed Weston-super-Mare in a winner-takes-all clash at the Optima Stadium.

The Glovers took the lead on the stroke of half time through Orla East, and despite the hosts equalising from the penalty spot, a point was enough to secure the South West Regional Division One South title.

It was Yeovil who looked dangerous early on as Chloe Perham fired an early warning shot, but her half-volley didn’t trouble goalkeeper Jayde Holcombe.

Two corners from Becky Miles caused trouble for the Seagulls defence. First, Perham saw a low effort blocked when the delivery fell to her, and then Keira Ealson-Taylor saw her header drop just wide after she rose highest in the middle.

Our Somerset rivals created a golden opportunity to take the lead when Vika Khandusenko got the wrong side of the defence, but Emily Hall stood tall to make a heroic block.

And in first half added time, East’s delightful Lobbie Savage after a pinpoint diagonal ball from the right wrong-footed goalkeeper and put Yeovil well and truly in the driving seat.

Weston’s equaliser came less than ten minutes after the restart though, after a handball in the box gave Khandusenko the chance from the spot. Hall was a whisker away from getting to the effort, but there was too much power on the strike.

Dave Court’s side stayed resolute as game management kicked in, and in fairness Yeovil probably came closer to finding a second goal.

Sophie Skilton’s angled shot didn’t go too far over the bar after good work from East, and a hanging effort from Jodi Cornwall had the goalkeeper relieved when the ball landed on the roof of the net.

Perhaps the impending celebrations got Cornwall a little too fired up, as she was shown a straight red in the dying embers of the game for a heavy challenge.

But that didn’t take the shine off a memorable day for Glovers, with the full time whistle sparking wild celebrations and some well-earned champagne.

Congratulations to everyone at Yeovil Town Women! Champions again olé olé… 🏆
