Yeovil Town Women manager Dave Court has spoken about the ambition to strengthen the club’s women’s programme following their title success.
The Glovers became South West Regional Division One South Champions at the weekend – their second league title in three seasons.
Yeovil competed in the Women’s Super League – the top flight of women’s football – as recently as 2019, but a merger with Bridgewater Town left the club without a women’s team until a relaunch in January 2023.
“We’re trying to develop a programme that young girls want to come and be part of,” Court said.
“What Yeovil Town Women have achieved in the past is incredible and we’ve taken a small step. I’d just like it to be an inspiration to the girls of the future.
“Yeovil is a big name and it deserves a good women’s set-up, and we’ll do everything we can to continue that in the future.”

Court, who holds a UEFA A Licence, was appointed ahead of the 2025/26 campaign following the departure of Paul Knight, who had led the team to promotion in 2024.
“In pre-season I spoke to a couple of ex-players, and I think it was really important for me coming in to get a feel for what had gone before.
“I was very aware that we had to do the right thing by those people as well, and hopefully they’ll be proud of us.”
The title was sealed after a winner-takes-all clash with second-placed Weston-super-Mare, with a point from a 1–1 draw enough to seal the title.
“I’m so proud of the girls, first and foremost for the shift they’ve put in, and to be honest it’s been the same since that first training session in July.
“This title was won on nights when it was pouring with rain and windy, and the players still turned up and trained. The real hard work has gone on when nobody’s been watching.”
