A theme that came up during both meet the owner events last week was around the club identity and branding. 

Some want to see a return to the crest which was replaced in 2024 with the current logo. The change has divided opinion ever since, but there is definitely strong emotions around the previous logo, which was never totally removed from Huish Park.  

We discussed this on today’s podcast which you can listen to here and thought we’d throw out a poll, that IF the club was to offer supporters the choice of keeping the new, or bringing back the old…how would you vote?

It’s that time of year where we ask Yeovil Town supporters for their thoughts on the season that’s just gone. 

As with the previous surveys, this is on Google Forms and is a mix of multiple choice and linear scale (1-7 of course) questions about issues on the pitch, off the pitch and the future. There is also an optional section about the Gloverscast that we’d be very grateful if you’d complete it.

The survey will be open for four weeks and will close on Tuesday 17th June. We’ll go through the responses and share them on the website like we did for last year’s survey.

It’s time the March edition of the YeoGov Survey (here’s a reminder of the results from February) and once again we want your thoughts about the four weeks that have just been.

In those four weeks, the Glovers turned form around to beat Tamworth, Maidenhead and draw with Southend before defeats against Barnet, Halifax, Boston United and York City this past weekend.

It’s the usual questions around performance around the club and the optional matchday experience one and this month we want to know if the club are performing as you expected for the first season in the National League.

The results of February’s YeoGov survey are in. Thanks to the 252 supporters who shared their thoughts.

As always we have the usual questions with the scores out of 7 below..

How do you think Mark Cooper is doing? 2.80

We also asked the question,  How important is it to you that Yeovil Town FC owns the land at Huish Park? to which the result was overwhelming with a score of 6.37 out of 7. The land has always been seen as a key unlock to secure the long term future of the football club and, clearly, it remains of vital importance to supporters.

It’s been four weeks since we last issued a the YeoGov survey – here’s a reminder of the results of that one. Since then the club held the fans’ forum at Huish Park, lost 4-0 to Rochdale, earned a draw at Dagenham & Redbridge and lost to 2-1 Wealdstone at the weekend.

We’ve got our usual questions around performance around the club and match experience (that one’s optional for you Exiles) but we’ve tacked one on the end about ‘the land’. At the fan forum a last month there was lots of discussion around the future of the land that surrounds Huish Park. With a deadline of May 2026 to make the most of the exclusive buy-back, the clock is ticking to purchase the land back from Somerset Council for more than £3m. Our own Ben sent a message in to BBC Radio Somerset’s breakfast show, asking Council Leader Bill Revans about the council’s view on the land.

Speaking at the fan forum, Martin Hellier said: “Whatever happens that land is going to get developed on. When you talk about the rent, I probably pay £100,000 a year to watch people walk their dogs on that land, so it is not my interests. We are well aware of the timeline, we have until May 2026 to buy back the land, we hold exclusive buy-back rights on the land, so no-one can come in and take that away from us.”

The January survey results are in and Yeovil Town supporters have that mid-table feeling at the moment.

We asked you, the loyal readers of the only independent website totally dedicated to Yeovil Town FC, the usual five questions to get ourselves a benchmark of the mood among the Huish Park faithful. (Out of 7, of course.)

Those questions are:

We also asked you whether you agreed or disagreed with the following statement: I am supportive of YTFC hosting a fan forum

As you can see on the graph below, everything is pretty middle of the road – much like the Glovers. Mark Cooper scores a 4.12, the players a 4.16, the ownership a 4.47, communication 4.45 and match day experience is 4.40.

With regards to the Fan Forum, there was overwhelming support for it with a 6.2 out of 7 score.*

Our YeoGov standards have slipped this season, and for that I apologise. We know how important it is to gather the views and opinions of supporters and this is the reboot of the YeoGov poll to get us a benchmark and back in the rhythm.

It’s the summer of polling it seems, and once again, at the Gloverscast we’ve completed the most comprehensive survey of Yeovil Town FC supporters out there. For the third year in a row we asked supporters to score how they feel about issues on the pitch and off the pitch on a scale of 1-7.

Who took part?

This year, 387 supporters completed the survey – down on the 552 and 499 from the previous seasons. More than half of respondents (54%) were over 45 years old and 90% were male. 

What did they tell us?

One of the major developments at the club since Martin Hellier’s takeover last summer has been the improvement to the facilities and match day experience, and that is coming through clearly in the data. We’ve seen a jump of nearly 2 points on the match day experience, customer service and atmosphere and a nearly 3 point jump in Huish Park being ‘well looked after’.


There’s also been an improvement in the perception of the food and drink offering and value for money. With the quality of food increasing to 4.47 vs 3.15 and drink to 4.85 from 3.53. Supporters also think they’re getting better value for money than previous seasons, with the average score 4.34 out of 7, compared to 3.15 and 2.88 in 2022/23 and 2021/22.

In other areas off the pitch, supporters have recognised the improvements made. Supporters feel communication has significantly improved, feel more valued and proud of the club. There is also a recognition that the club has made more effort in the community in the last 12 months.

Areas where there has been improvement, but the score is average is around listening, and who to contact. 

On the pitch

Of course, it was a championship winning season for the Glovers and that is reflected in the scores with support for the job Mark Cooper and the job he did.

And if any wasn’t sure, Jake Wannell was voted as player of the season – again.

The Future

Looking to the future of the club, supporters are narrowly more optimistic than they were last season (we surveyed just after Martin Hellier took over.)

Supporters Groups

When we surveyed in 2023, the Glovers Trust had just hosted the meeting at Johnson Park about the creation of a supporters group that represented all supporters. In the survey last year, the support for a group that represents all supporters scored 5.76 out of 7 and that support has held up this year with a score of 5.38. 

78% of supporters surveyed aren’t part of any group and those who aren’t also support the idea of one group with a score of 5.32.

In Conclusion

We are a much happier bunch than we were in the last two seasons and with good reason. On the pitch we’ve won the National South at the first time of asking and off the pitch, the match day experience is night and day compared to previous seasons. Huish Park has had investment which has seen the creation of The Ciderspace, the upgrading of the Alec Stock Lounge and corporate facilities and those changes are clearly impacting how people feel about the club.’

I am most surprised that the support for a single supporters group has held up, showing that even in these good times the supporters of the club would welcome an organisation that represents them and they can be a part of.

As Yeovil head back into National League after one season, the strides the club has taken has made it nearly unrecognisable from the club 12 months before and that is clear in the numbers.
