Sample Page (Page 11)

This is an example page. It's different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I'm a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin' caught in the rain.)

...or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

An away game under the lights for Yeovil Town on Wednesday night as they face Boreham Wood in league action.

FORM…

YEOVIL TOWN

The Glovers have had a very productive last five games with four wins and just the one loss in that time. Two of those wins have come in the FA Trophy, which will have offered a reprieve from a disappointing league campaign. Those four wins however should give Billy Rowley some encouragement heading into the back half of the season.

In fact last time out against Altrincham, the Glovers didn’t show their best stuff but ground out a win against a side who sat one place below them prior to the fixture. The game looked a to a tough 0-0 draw but with three minutes left of regulation time up stepped loanee Terrell Works to win the game 0-1.

The Glovers in action against Altrincham.

The goal came about after Jed Ward played a long ball up top, which got a fortuitous bounce off Ryan Jones. The ball fell to James Daly who found Luke McCormick through on goal but was denied by The Robins keeper. Luckily for the Glovers, Works was in the right place and tucked away the rebound.

The travelling support will be hoping for another three points on Wednesday evening.

BOREHAM WOOD

It will be just over a week since The Wood last played a game after their match against Woking was postponed (that pitch has had a battering). But before we get to Boreham Wood’s last match, let’s take a look at their previous five games. Some good reading for Glovers fans here as although they sit sixth in the league The Wood have only won one of their last five and have lost four. That one win was at Braintree Town on the 17th January, with the London side losing heavily in their next four.  A particular worry will be the 1-3 loss to Altrincham.

When The Wood last played, they got beat 4-1 by Rochdale. That result isn’t really an anomaly for anyone who’s played Dale as they have dismantled most sides at The Crown Oil Arena. Wood fans will be hoping to put an end to this poor vain of form to put them back in the promotion hunt.

KEY PLAYERS…

YEOVIL TOWN – TERRELL WORKS

At 21 this is the Fulham loanee’s second spell in professional football after spending the first half of the season at Braintree. And although he may have only played a handful of games for the Glovers to date, there is something that stuck out to me about the youngster, his attitude.

Loanee Terrell Works playing for Yeovil.

In his post match interview, Works stated that Billy Rowley had asked him to go and score and “that’s what he did”. Some may perceive it as arrogance, I see it as confidence. And ultimately that what separates good players from average players, they believe in themselves no matter what. It’s too early to say what kind of player Works will go on to be but the early signs are good, lets just hope he can carry on doing what he does.

BOREHAM WOOD – MATT RUSH

I mentioned the forward as the man to watch in the first encounter this season and it’s no different four months later. Rush, went on to score in that game, which has helped push to 15 goals this season. The 24-year-old has been quiet in recent games compared to earlier this term but he still poses a threat for the out of sorts London side.

Rush’s last goals came as he bagged a brace against Brackley Town at the end of January in the National League Cup and will be looking to put the last two games behind him.

THE GAFFER…

Luke Garrard is the man who will be welcoming Yeovil to Meadow Park on Wednesday night. The 40-year-old has only ever managed Boreham Wood in his nine year managerial career. First of all between 2015-2024, before the former midfielder was sacked after seeing The Wood get relegated from the National League. Garrard was quickly reinstated as boss at Meadow Park however after the sacking of Ross Jenkins.

As a player Garrard, had spells at Swindon, a first stint at Boreham Wood, Bishops Stortford and AFC Wimbledon before rejoining The Wood on loan in 2009. The Londoner then made the loan spell permanent the following season before retiring to take over as manager in 2015.

Garrard has faced the Glover nine times previously winning four, drawing three and losing two.

LAST TIME WE MET…

When the two sides lat met in October, The Wood ran out 0-3 winners at Huish Park. Goals that day from Abdul Abdulmalik, Matt Rush and Oluwafemi Ilesanmi sunk a then Richard Dryden side.

The result was the same when they last met at Meadow Park at the back end of the 2022/23 season. The home side taking all three points in 1-0 win. Tyrone Marsh grabbing the only goal that day. The Glovers haven’t beaten The Wood since 2021.

DON’T I KNOW YOU…

Boreham Wood are one of the few teams not to have at least one former Glover in their side. Well it is a long way from Yeovil (or Bristol).

THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Harrison Blair is the man in charge for this fixture. For more information on him and his team for Wednesday night check out Ben’s article – here.

Yeovil Town’s clash with Southend United has been rescheduled for Tuesday March 31st – with a 7:45pm kick off.

The game at Roots Hall had to be postponed as both sides progressed into the FA Trophy Quarter Finals, which takes precedence on the original date.

Anyone who purchased tickets for that game, those tickets are still valid.

A cracking away win at Altrincham on Saturday, a late goal from Terrell Works sealed the win, but it was the first half penalty save from Jed Ward that meant he claimed top spot in your minds.

Cardiff loanee Troy Perrett came second in the vote with 12 ticks in the box and there wasn’t much between four or five others, Kyle Ferguson just taking the bronze medal spot from Harvey Greenslade.

Yeovil Town have an away day in London this Wednesday night and our official for the game against Boreham Wood is Mr Harrison Blair.

It’s actually the third time this season we’ve had Mr Blair, the away game we won 1-0 at Solihull Moors in September under Richard Dryden and the 1-1 draw against Eastleigh just before the turn of the year.

Byron Pendleton and Tahvon Campbell went in the book vs Moors whilst Morgan Williams, Jake Wannell, James Plant and Aaron Jarvis all saw yellow at Huish Park.

He’s been fairly busy this season, refereeing 22 games across five different competitions, handing out a total of 84 yellows, (3.8 per game) three reds and awarding five penalty kicks.

The only Boreham Wood game he took charge of is a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest’s kids in the National League Premier League Cup thingy.

His assistants are Nicoleta Bria and Karl Sear whilst Samuel Read is on fourth official duties.

Yeovil Town Women marked their return to action with an emphatic South West Regional Football League victory, hitting Wells City for six on the Huish Park 3G.

Seven consecutive postponements had kept Dave Court’s side waiting almost two months for a competitive fixture, but they showed no signs of rust as they brushed aside their Somerset rivals with ease.

The opener arrived after just two minutes when Lily McNally’s effort was parried by the Wells goalkeeper, allowing Jodi Cornwall to blast home the rebound.

The lead was doubled on the half-hour mark as Keira Ealson-Taylor combined with McNally, who gave the goalkeeper no chance this time, firing into the bottom corner.

A dangerous delivery from Jess Hodge – making her first competitive start since suffering an ACL injury in 2024 – was turned into her own net by a Wells defender to make it 3–0. McNally then doubled her personal tally before the break to put her side firmly in control at half-time.

Yeovil continued to dominate after the restart but had to wait until the 85th minute for their fifth goal, as McNally rounded the goalkeeper to complete her hat-trick.

There was still time for substitute Chloe Davenport to add further gloss in stoppage time, unleashing a ferocious strike to cap a comprehensive afternoon for the Glovers.

The FA website currently has the score down as 5-0, but we’d prefer to take the word of the YTFC socials and trust that there was a sixth goal in there somewhere!

Next up, Yeovil will travel to Devon to face Feniton on Sunday 15th February, 2pm kick-off.

Gloverscast Ben was on co-ommentary duty for BBC Somerset this weekend. He was at the J Davidson Stadium to witness the last minute winner for the Glovers. Here are his five conclusions.

Jed Ward saves Penalties.

When they document this season in a Hollywood movie or a Netflix documentary, there will be plenty of storyline that flow throughout, but one of them will undoubtedly be that Jed Ward has picked some brilliant moments to save spot kicks.

The context of the game, the fact that we’ve recovered 0 points from losing positions this season and that it was a decently hit penalty all add to that being a massive, massive moment. Breathe it in, the smell of freshly cleaned sheets

A win for intent?

It wasn’t a great game, the greasy surface, the wet weather, the two mid table sides who have been through some stuff this season kind of set that up, but I think Yeovil won the game, because we wanted to win it. Altrincham wanted to slow the game down, Yeovil wanted the ball to move forward.

It isnt that simple, it never is, but I felt like Rowley’s attacking additions have one mindset that is to get the ball to the opposition penalty area, the substitutions – again, possibly because thats all we had – were replacing energy with energy in the attacking third.

The Cardiff lads are a bit good.

Dakarai Mafico won the Gloverscast Player of the Month for January and deservedly so, im really looking forward to seeing what Perrett can bring to this side.

I loved everything he did in the final third. He’s young and raw and not everything came off, but his brain is certainly there for a high level of football.

He’s only ever thinking forward. He ran with the ball, stuck to him like glue, he’s got a nice touch in tight spots to keep the possession. My MOTM. We’ve got a couple of good ones.

We are still missing that number 9.

Tahvon Campbell got booted about before being taken off, and did a lot of real battling and would have felt every single minute of it, but without having Jarvis to call upon from the bench, we did feel light.

We’ve got a very simple tactic when the ball goes direct; the ball goes into the feet of TC, or for him to nod on and then there’s runners beyond the front man to create chances. That’s a physical job, often a thankless one, but one that looks increasingly pivotal in a Billy Rowley set up. A summer priority to make sure we have the best back to goal striker in non league at our disposal… (no, not that one Dave)

Momentum feels good.

I know there’s been a slightly broken up schedule with postponements and the focus switching between league and cup, but the numbers, right now, don’t lie. Four wins from the last five (well, three and a penalties victory), three clean sheets and the early signs of what a Billy Rowley Yeovil might look like over the next few months and seasons.

Those 201 fans int he away end headed home with a last gasp winner in their back pockets, and dare I say, are heading to promotion chasing Boreham Wood, (who have lost four of their last five) in a great mood and hoping we can cause an upset.
