Yeovil Town’s match-winner, Will Merry, told BBC Radio Somerset’s Jack Killah he was buzzing to score his first goal in senior football at Huish Park, in a game which saw the energy sapped out of everyone in Green and White.

“I think you hit the nail on the head, [I’m] knackered, to be fair. But, buzzing. Absolutely buzzing. My first goal in senior football. I haven’t had many better moments so far. I just saw the goal, to be honest. And I just thought, late stage of the game, literally just go for it.”

“The boys are buzzing, but they’ve played more games than me. I think they’re even more shattered, so yeah, credit to all of them, they’ve really worked hard out there.”

When asked about how it’s been like working with Billy Rowley in his short time at the club so far, the Southampton loanee said: “[Billy Rowley] just makes it really clear what he wants from me. He says ‘express yourself on the ball’, but he also helps me be mature and with my decision-making and he’s been class with me.”
