Sample Page (Page 62)

This is an example page. It's different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I'm a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin' caught in the rain.)

...or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley has told his side to “roll our sleeves up and get some results” as they take on Tamworth looking to add to their National League Premier Division points tally.

The Glovers dropped to 18th place in the division, five points above the relegation places albeit with games in hand, as they played in the FA Trophy last weekend.

Speaking to BBC Somerset’s Josh Perkins ahead of kick-off, Rowley said: “Sadly we are not really training that much because of the schedule. Those not familiar with a professional footballing schedule, sadly, you know, you can’t train every day. You obviously play on a Saturday, you rest on a Sunday, you recover on a Monday, and then you go play again Tuesday. So we haven’t trained anywhere near as much as I’d like and sometimes that shows on the pitch.

“We need to just sort of roll our sleeves up and get some results at the moment. We’re still massively interested in playing a good brand of football and we want to like be better with the ball. But without loads of training time, that’s obviously hard.“

The boss confirmed young Fulham attacker Terrell Works misses out tonight as he is suffering with the flu whilst striker Tahvon Campbell, who started the penalty shoot-out defeat at Southport in the FA Trophy last weekend, is on the bench after picking up “a slight knock on his calf.”

Rowley said: “I just tried to freshen up the legs of the team. Sadly, Terrell Works has the flu and a sore throat, so he can’t be involved tonight, which is a real shame because the last couple of games he’s been really good for us and adds a lot of creativity in the team.”

Asked about the decision to send defender Dan Ellison back out on a one-month loan to Weston-super-Mare despite the Glovers struggling for numbers, Rowley described the decision as “a bit of miscommunicated” saying Ellison’s return to the squad at Southport and immediate return to Weston was always the plan.

He said: “Dan came back just to help us out with the FA Trophy game. We obviously have a decent amount of defenders, so rather than him sit and watch us play, he obviously wants to go out and play some minutes, which he’s been doing well there. That’s it really, he’s gone back to carry on his loan.“

Striker Aaron Jarvis is named in the Yeovil Town starting line-up as they prepare to take on Tamworth at Huish Park tonight (7.45pm kick-off).

The frontman, who missed from the spot in the penalty shoot-out defeat at Southport in the FA Trophy at the weekend, is joined by James Daly in the Glovers’ frontline.

Ryan Jones, who was cup-tied in the Trophy, returns to the XI alongside Cardiff City loanee Troy Perrett, who came off the bench in Merseyside.

Tahvon Campbell, Alex Whittle and Finn Cousin-Dawson, who all started three days ago, are named among the substitutes. There is no place for Fulham loanee Terrell Works, who missed the game at Southport having played for Braintree Town earlier in the competition.

As quickly as he was here, he’s gone again! Yeovil Town defender Dan Ellison has resumed his spell on loan at National League South side Weston-super-Mare for a further month.

The former Bristol Rovers player, who joined from the Memorial Stadium last October signed by former manager Richard Dryden, came on as a second half substitute in the Glovers’ penalty shoot-out exit from the FA Trophy at Southport last weekend.

He was recalled with now-boss Billy Rowley struggling for numbers due to a number of first-team regulars being cup-tied in the competition with Weston, who he initially joined last December, being without a game.

It’s back home for Yeovil Town as they take on Tamworth at Huish Park on Tuesday night.

FORM…

YEOVIL TOWN

The Glovers haven’t been in the best of form over the last five games with three losses, a win and a draw in that time. The only win during that time was last week when the Billy Rowley‘s men hosted Sutton United and scraped a 3-2 thanks to two last stoppage time goals.

Last time out the Glovers were beat 1-1 (4-2 on penalties) by Southport in the FA Trophy. With the travelling Glovers faithful optimistic of a Wembley trip, Yeovil soon repaid the support of the travelling fans with a goal just before the break thanks to the in-from James Daly.

The Somerset side couldn’t hang on a conceded with 10 minutes to forcing a shootout, and the less we say about that the better.

The sun sets on our dreams of a Wembley final.

Tamworth

The Staffordshire side are in a better predicament than their counterparts. Over the last five fixtures they are unbeaten with three draws and two wins. Currently sat in 10th, the Lambs are very much one of the in-form sides in the league, with 11 goals scored during the same stretch of games.

It was perhaps last time out that the midlands team showed their growing confidence and quality with a 3-2 win over fourth place Boreham Wood. That result really cemented the credentials of Tamworth heading into the latter part of the season. In form striker (how nice it would be to have one of them) Oliver Lynch bagged two goals with Stefan Mols grabbing the other in the impressive win.

KEY PLAYERS…

YEOVIL TOWN – JAMES DALY

It could only be Daly after the last week. In what has been a very stop start campaign for the winger, over the last two games Daly has been integral to getting goals where other members of the team haven’t. Now it’s not the 26-year-olds fault that for long parts of the season the whole squad has been underperforming, himself included, but the he is given the chance to play he clearly has quality.

James Daly
Pic c/o Gary Brown

It’s understatement to say that eyebrows were raised when we signed him from Harrogate town in the summer, with many believing he was a better standard than us. With a crucial double against Sutton last week and the opening goal against Southport, Daly has proved he has the ability, but let’s hope he can sustain this to show it’s not just a flash in the pan purple patch.

TAMWORTH – OLIVER LYNCH

If we take the last five games as a sample size for form, Lynch is in great form. For a striker it’s all about scoring goals and Lynch has started to find the net more regularly in recent weeks. Across the five game period I talked about, the 21-year-old has bagged four goals in that time.

Two of those four came last time out against Boreham Wood, the on-loan Luton man scored a brace, helping his team to a 3-2 win over the London side. His uptick in form will be pleasing for Lambs fans, but for Yeovil who have at times had an unsure defence, it could be a struggle to keep Lynch under control.

THE GAFFER…

The man in the away dugout on Tuesday night will be the longstanding Andy Peaks. The 55-year-old has been at The Lamb Ground since 2022 now and has helped Tamworth become a recognised National League club in that time.

Before taking over four years ago, Peaks was at boss down at Rushden & Diamonds for nine years, between 2013 and 2022. that was his first job in management after spells as assistant at Rushden & Diamonds, Daventry Town and AFC Long Buckby in the six years prior.

Peaks’ record when facing the Glovers is that of symmetry, with three games played against Yeovil he has won one, drawn one and lost one.

LAST TIME WE MET…

The teams last played each other way back at the start of the campaign in September when Tamworth won 1-0 at The Lamb Ground. The only goal that day coming from Tyler Roberts in the 75th minute. Coincidently it was the only game in the Danny Webb era.
Danny Webb

When the two sides last met at Huish Park it was just over a year ago, it was Yeovil who took the the three points with a 2-1 win over the Lambs. That day, Tamworth took a 0-1 lead through Ronan Maher just before the half hour mark. It wasn’t until the 49th minute that the Glovers equalised through Charlie Cooper. Before Frank Nouble got the winner 10 minutes later.

DON’T I KNOW YOU…

There will be no former Glovers making the trip to their old stomping ground on Tuesday night.

THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Oliver Mackey will be the man with the whistle on Tuesday night. For more on him and his team read Ben’s article here.

With Yeovil Town not progressing in the FA Trophy, our game against Gateshead of Saturday March 28th will go ahead as planned.

James Daly’s two goals and stellar performance against Sutton has earned him your Man of the Match vote.

His 93rd minute equaliser was exciting, a moment only bettered by Brett McGavin’s 97th minute winner.

He gets second, whilst there’s a tie for third, Ryan Jones making the table for the first time since his arrival, and Harvey Greenslade.

There’s a name we’ve had before in the middle on Tuesday night when Tamworth visit Huish Park.

Oliver Mackey was the referee when the Glovers got trounced 4-0 at York City last season. Mackey sent Finn Cousin-Dawson off after 10 minutes and Dom Bernard late on as Ollie Pearce had a tap in master class.

He also took charge of the 1-0 win over Bath City in the National League South… **drifts off to dream of a Morgan Williams late winner**

No fewer than 106 yellow cards have been drawn from his pocket this season, from only 27 games too, just the three red ones though. He’s pointed to the spot on five occasions – he’s actually spent far more time in the EFL than in the National League system this season.

As far as his record with Tamworth goes, one game, a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Forest Green Rovers is all that appears.

Assisting Mackey are Grzegorz Kornasiewicz, Justin Amey and the fourth official is Stuart Kane.

Gloverscast Fans Quiz #8

Welcome to the ninth edition of the Gloverscast Fans’ Quiz — your chance to test just how deep your Yeovil Town knowledge really goes. As ever, we’ve got the usual mix of categories to put you through your paces: Golden Oldies, Stats & Facts, The Day Today, and Fans’ Favourite.

This week’s quiz wanders across the full sweep of Glovers history, from a remarkable link between a Yeovil player from the early 1900s, through to a nostalgic look back at the days when Chris Cohen was running the midfield in the mid-noughties.

Whether your knowledge stretches from Huish Park heroics to long-forgotten names from decades past, there should be something here to test even the most dedicated Green and White brain. Good luck!

The Rowley-coaster took another sharp dip as Yeovil Town’s FA Trophy dream died at the hands of lower league Southport. Dave was among the away supporters in Merseyside yesterday and here are his thoughts.

The dream is over and we only have ourselves to blame: Penalties are a lottery, but we picked all the wrong numbers in that second half. We were the better side in the first half but missed too many chances to put ourselves further in front at half-time and with the scoreline at 1-0, and that meant Southport always had a chance. They came out for the second half with that knowledge firmly in their minds and our substitutions assisted, we just got deeper and deeper as the second half progressed and Southport took full advantage. The miss from Chris Sze about 20 minutes before their equaliser should have been a wake up call, but we just did not wake up.

We lost the penalty lottery: After Brett McGavin had shown the way with the first penalty in the shoot-out, the choice of Aaron Jarvis for the next one was bizarre. In his pre-match comments, Billy Rowley had said Jarvis had travelled separately having been suffering with food poisoning and it showed, he offered nothing for the entire second half and to not even get his penalty on target spoke of someone who was either ill or has given up – or both. Jed Ward’s heroics in shoot-outs has got us this far in the competition, but there’s only so much he can do when two of his team-mates can’t even hit the target.

The sun sets on our dreams of a Wembley final.

Is there any point mentioning the need for a striker?: It feels like we say it in every one of these Conclusions articles, but when you look at the chances we spurned before James Daly pounced on a mistake, it seems so blindingly obvious. I get the difficulties with finding someone at this stage of the season, but when you see other clubs in our division signing strikers, is it really that hard? Really?! Campbell did alright when he was on in the first half, but the fact he can’t complete more than 45 minutes speaks volumes. Less said about Jarvis the better.

Credit to Southport: You have to tip your hat to Southport, they never gave up and the 3,000-odd fans inside Haig Avenue created a fantastic atmosphere. The fans I met before the game had much more of a sense of humour of the ribbing about being Scousers than the more sensitive ones on social media, and they thoroughly deserve their place in the semi-final. I hope they get a Merseyside derby against Marine in the FA Trophy this time around.

James Daly in happier times. Even this was more paper over the cracks.

This has to be a wake-up call: The progress in the FA Trophy has papered over some cracks in our squad, but now they have to be laid bare. There is no point in glossing over it, with the exception of a very select few, this squad is simply not up to it. There are 13 more league games left to play and we have to hope that there’s enough desire and quality in this side to get us over that line. If anyone in a position of control at the club thinks there is going to be the type of success which will bring in the crowds without major investment in the playing squad, they need to think again. If you ever thought this wasn’t a roller-coaster, the thrilling high of late win against Sutton on Wednesday and the devastating drop at Southport tells you differently.
