Striker Harvey Greenslade has become Yeovil Town’s first signing of the summer as they prepare for life back in the National League Premier.

The 20-year-old, who was released by League One club Bristol Rovers having spent the second half of last season on loan at Oxford City, has signed a two-year contract with the Glovers.

Having played at Huish Park last season whilst on loan at Truro City for the first half of last season, the Rovers’ academy product told the club’s official YouTube channel that he was excited by the plans of manager Mark Cooper.

He said: “I’m really excited, it’s obviously a big club and I am really looking forward to meeting all the fans and playing my football here. It was really attractive when I got told about it, so I am really looking forward to it.

Having been at Rovers for so long it was a bit weird to leave, but now it is a new exciting challenge and I am looking forward to cracking on with it.

Harvey Greenslade

I played at Huish Park last season and the fans were unbelievable, but I had a phone call from the Gaffer and he outlined his ambitions for next season and as soon as I was off the call it sounded really good, my way of playing.

I liked it last season, it was a level I can perform well at. It is a really good chance to show how good I can be. I could not be happier, playing my first game at Huish Park in front of all the Yeovil fans, I am really looking forward to it.

Despite being at the Memorial Ground since the age of seven, he made just one first team appearance for the club in the 2022-23 season, appearing as a second half substitute in an EFL Trophy defeat at Plymouth Argyle.

However, he has had a number of loan spells winning promotion to National League South with Truro City in the 2022-23 season and then spending the first half of last season with the White Tigers. He appeared for the Cornish/Devon/Gloucestershire outfit in the 2-1 defeat at Huish Park at the start of last season.

In the second half of last season, he moved up a division and scored three times in 16 appearances for Oxford City.

With Rhys Murphy having departed for Dorking Wanderers a fortnight ago, Greenslade boosts manager Cooper’s attacking options.
