Football journalist Jacque Talbot has reported that an announcement will be made about a takeover at Yeovil Town on Friday.
The football365.com reporter posted on his Twitter feed on Thursday: “Hear that National League side Yeovil Town have been taken over and an announcement could be made by the club tomorrow.”
He then added: “Nothing like Salford or Wrexham but move is considered a positive step.”
Club director Stuart Robins replied to say: “That’s interesting.”
The post offers no further details about who the takeover is from, although the reporter does clarify in a reply to say he understand it is “not an overseas investor.”
Local businessman Martin Hellier, whose company Hellier Group sponsors the Main Stand at Huish Park, confirmed he was not part of the takeover on his Twitter channel.
Hellier has been public in his interest to buy the club in recent weeks despite declaring himself out of the running at the start of December.
