Tom Bailey is back with transfer round up of the National League, including Glovers corner…

Glovers’ Corner

Before we dive into the National League ins and outs, let’s look at the former Glovers that have moved about in the last couple of weeks. We may miss a few, so if any of you see any we may have missed, tag us on Facebook or Twitter (or X), or leave a comment below and we’ll add them in the next week’s round-up!

Plenty of Glover movement this week, as another one of our champions from last season has a new home! Jake Hyde has joined last season’s NLS runners up Chelmsford City, as they look to surpass last season’s playoff disappointment. Another Glover who was with us last season, but didn’t make an appearance, was Scott Pollock, who signed with National League North playoff side Brackley Town.

Jake Hyde scoring in pre-season.

Some Glovers of former years have also been on the move, as Alex Bradley joined Stourbridge following a stint with Walsall Wood, and Adi Yussuf has joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Halesowen Town. Off field, former YTFC “manager” Neale Marmon was announced as Sporting Director at Gibraltar National League side Lions Gibraltar, and another former YTFC manager (a proper one this time!) is back off to Europe; Steve Rutter has been announced as the Technical Director for the academy of Cypriot side Omonoia Nicosia, who will feature in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds this season!

Altrincham

For the first time in a  couple of weeks, Altrincham have a new signing! On Thursday afternoon, Joe Nuttall was announced as their latest addition, joining from fellow National League side Oldham Athletic. The striker has made the move on a season-long loan.

There has been a major departure as well this week, as last season’s National League Player of the Season, Chris Conn-Clarke, left the club to join League One side Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee. The 22 year old scored 22 goals, and got 6 assists during a stellar campaign ending in playoff heartache; he will be a big loss for the Robins.

Two players who had already left the side have found new homes as well, as Joey Jones signed with Walton & Hersham, and Dior Angus joined AFC Telford United.

Barnet

A couple of new homes for some names on the “Out” list; a departure that hasn’t officially been announced per se, is Moussa Diarra. He spent part of last season on loan at Eastbourne Borough, and despite my best efforts, there is nothing out there to suggest he was confirmed as a permanent signing. Diarra is available to be sponsored though, so… a late confirmation for us. Laurie Walker has also seemingly swapped clubs with Nick Hayes, as the ‘keeper joins Solihull Moors.

Boston’s preparations for their first season back in the National League since their relegation from the Football League continues with two new signings. Signing one is a familiar face, as Adam Marriott returns for a third spell with the club after his loan spell from Bromley was made permanent. The Pilgrims’ second signing is Sam Osborne, a midfielder who joins from Buxton.

No new departures this week.

Seemingly out of nowhere, captain Baris Altintop has departed the club as a free agent, with plenty of suitors at National League level.
