National League South Champion Jay Foulston has joined Torquay United.

Foulston, who spent the second half of the season with the Glovers on loan from Taunton Town, heads to Plainmoor on the expiry of his Peacock’s contract.

When he arrived at Huish Park in December, Taunton said that there was a ‘view to a permanent deal’ for the Glovers to sign the defender at the end of his contract, but clearly that hasn’t been taken up.

Foulston played 21 times for Yeovil last season, including in a 3-0 win over the Gulls, and becomes the first signing for manager (and former Glover) Paul Wotton following the lifting of the club’s transfer embargo today.

Torquay had been unable to negotiate any player transfers since they served notice of their intention to go in to administration in February, but recently completed a takeover by The Bryn Consortium, led by journalist Michael Westcott.

All the best in Devon, Jay!

We’re back after a week off and Ben and Dave are joined by Michael West from the YTFC Heritage Society to take a deep dive into the history of the club.

We talk about how the Society has helped the Glovers community and helped Yeovil fans everywhere explore the history of the players, shirts… and even the badge.

We also talk about the Glovers’ newest squad member – Harvey Greenslade and chat about Bristol Rovers coming to town in pre-season.

Stay tuned for another GloversPast coming this week too.

Like, share, subscribe – all that good stuff is welcome!

We were absolutely delighted & gobsmacked to be nominated in two categories last year, to get a Silver Award in one was outstanding.

Nominations are open again, and we’ve love to be considered again.

It does take a couple of moments, but if any YTFC fan would like to say a few nice words about the work we do, we’d be incredibly grateful.

Something a little different for this week’s podcast, with Dave on holiday and Ian in his sick bed (get well soon, mate!), Gloverscast Ben needed some help.

We’re delighted to welcome the founder, Charlie and chairman Dan of Autistic FC to the podcast.

Both are Yeovil fans and both are doing wonderful things to make their community a better place.

We hear how a 14-year-old (who was nine at the time) had an ambition to create an inclusive and safe space for young, neurodivergent and autistic footballers to play, grow and enjoy the game.

We talk Yeovil too, including the news that Rhys Murphy has swapped Huish Park for Dorking Wanderers and our hopes for the upcoming season…

Yeovil Town have added a trip to Buckland Athletic to their pre-season schedule.

The Glovers will head to the Western Premier league side on Tuesday 30th July with the game kicking off at a slightly earlier time of 7.30pm.

This is a repeat of one of last season’s prep games, in which, the Green and Whites ran out 4-0 winners.

Another week, another team of the season, another couple of Glovers getting their recognition.

This time, the official Vanarama Team of the Season has been named and messrs Wannell and Young are in the side.

I mean, it could have been eleven of them in green and white, but two will have to do… nine others also make the side, but they don’t matter.

Well in, Jake and Jordan.

Yeovil Town have wished striker Rhys Murphy well as the front man joins Dorking Wanderers.

Murphy, whose contract expires at the end of June, scored 15 goals in his second spell as a Glover helping the side to the National League South title.

The Bagsman joins Marc White’s side as they themselves look to bounce back from relegation from the National League Premier.

Murphy falls one short of 50 goals in Green and White in just under 100 games across two spells, a brilliant ratio of goal scoring.

All the best at Dorking, Señor!

Yeovil Town will travel to Badgers Hill on Saturday 13th of July to face Frome Town in a friendly.

The Robins were promoted via the  Southern League Play Offs this season and will be part of the Glovers’ pre season schedule alongside Exeter, Melksham and Weston-super-Mare.

Yeovil last faced Frome in the pre-season of the 2021-22 season with goals from Albi Skendi and Carl Dickinson in a 2-1 win.

Kick off is at 3pm and tickets will be available soon.
