Yeovil Town goalkeeper coach Phil Osborn has announced he has left Huish Park.

Osborn, who joined the Glovers in 2022 helped work with the likes of Grant Smith, Joe Day and Will Buse during his time at the club and leaves as a National League South Champion.

All the best in the future, Phil.

National League South Champion, Jake Hyde has signed for Chelmsford City.

The former Southend and Wrexham front man made important contributions from the bench as he helped Yeovil Town land the NLS title.

But after injury troubles prevented him from seeing the season out with a regular spot in the team, he was deemed surplus to requirements and released.

Now he’s back in the NLS and looking to go for back to back promotions with Chelmsford.

Go well, Jake!

Former Bradford City Defender, Finn Cousin-Dawson has joined Yeovil Town after leaving the West Yorkshire side this summer.

Cousin-Dawson has represented the Bantams since 2019 with Loan spells into the National League system with, amongst others Blyth Spartans in recent seasons.

Listed as a right sided central defender, the versatile 21-year old can also play at right back and as part of a back three… helpful to have options!

Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, he said: “It is obviously a really big club and as soon as I heard there was an interest in coming here, I could not wait to get here.

“I could not have picked anywhere further away from Bradford but for me it was completely a football decision. It was the project of the football club itself that was something I could not really turn down.

The identity of the club was a big draw, they have obviously been in higher leagues in previous seasons, and the way the manager has the team playing suits me, those were a massive factors in coming here.

Watching how Yeovil played last year, that was how they won the (National League South) title, so it suits me and hopefully I can fit right in to the team. I’m really excited, it is always good to put yourself in a new environment and meet new people.

Welcome to Somerset, Finn!

Will Dawes has signed for National League South side Chippenham Town after leaving Yeovil Town.

Dawes, who signed for the Glovers from Stratford Town, left Huish Park at the end of this season after helping to secure the NLS Title.

The winger played in 22 league games during the successful 2023/24 campaign and secured promotion from that division the year before as part of the Oxford City side.

Dawes will seek a Hat Trick of promotions from the regional division with Chippenham this coming season.

Go well, Will.

When you guide a team to an eleven point winning margin at the top of the table, you deserve recognition for it.

Mark Cooper has been awarded National League South Manager of the Year at the Vanarama End of Season Awards.

Super Cooper’s Greens will be blinding like the sun in the National League Premier from early August.

Paul Cook of Chesterfield won the NLP title and Andy Peaks of Tamworth took the NLN gong.

Good work, gaffer… same again next year?

The National League have confirmed a number of key dates ahead of the upcoming season.

Fixture release day will be on Wednesday 10th July… which gives you exactly one month to begin planning those lovely long away days… Gateshead on a Tuesday night, anyone?

The National League Premier will conclude on a Monday, because… reasons. Monday 5th May 2025 to be precise with a play-off schedule beginning soon after.

Festive fixtures will be on Saturday 21 December, with Boxing Day fixtures taking place as normal – fixtures will be scheduled on New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1 January) with clubs able to switch to New Year’s Eve (Tuesday 31 December) if both clubs reach an agreement to do so.

It’s also worth noting a slight change to the festive schedule; no longer will teams play each other back-to-back across Xmas and New Year, instead, the Boxing Day games will be reversed on Good Friday and the New Year Game will be replicated on Easter Monday.

At time of writing, the Football Association haven’t confirmed dates for the FA Cup, FA Trophy or any other silly competition including Premier League kids teams… we look forward to those.

Confirmation of key dates for the 2024/25 season:
Fixture Release Day – Wednesday 10 July
Opening Day – Saturday 10 August
National Closing Day – Monday 5 May

National League South Champion Joe Day has been linked with a move to Cheltenham Town ahead of the new season.

Day, who spent the majority of the 2023/24 season with Yeovil Town, making 40 appearances, has been linked to the League Two outfit by Gloucestershire Live.

Plenty of Glovers fans, including us here at the Gloverscast, had hoped that the former Newport County stopper would return to Huish Park after being released at the end of his contract with Newport County.

But, with lots of change at Whaddon Road, including the appointment of Gary Johnson as Director of Football, the suggestion is the fan’s favourite will be staying in the EFL and once again link up with his former boss, Michael Flynn
