Ollie Haste (Page 6)

It’s not just the Yeovil first team getting frustrated at the weather, so are the legion of loanee Glovers. It’s time for another chilly edition of Loan Watch.

So…Plymouth Parkway (Toby Stephens), Gillingham Town (Sam Hodges and Rob Hollard), Sherborne Town (Benjani Jnr and Jake Graziano) and Leamington (Ollie Hulbert) all saw their games called off.

However, Truro’s home game against Merthyr Town did go ahead at Bolitho Park, Plymouth. Paul Wotton’s side drew 0-0 against their Welsh opposition, but Ollie Haste was an unused substitute.

Which means the only Glover to actually see a competitive game was Will Dawes, who joined W*ymouth, the team second from bottom of the National League South.

He started on the bench for (have we really got to mention them every time for a month!?), but was introduced as a 76th minute substitute.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t prevent the Seagull botherers from going down 2-1 to Chelmsford City. Yes, truly unfortunate that.

Wait… so, do we want a Dawes hat-trick in a 4-3 loss every week? I feel conflicted.

For the record, goalkeeper Max Evans‘ one-month loan at Bedford Town officially came to an end in midweek, but he hadn’t played for a few games, we assume he’s back at Huish Park and probably has been for a while.

Plenty of sides are going to try and get games in midweek so there will be (weather permitting) a midweek Loan Watch to look forward to.

Whilst the Yeovil Town first team might have come unstuck at Bromley their army of loanees were out and about, but only one was getting more game time, let’s round up what happened.

Down in Plymouth we start with Parkway who were on the wrong end of a 1-0 defeat to the Met Police.

Toby Stephens came off the bench in the 65th minute, but couldn’t help his side find an equaliser.

There was only one real winner – the weather – in the games involving Sherborne Town (Benjani and Jake Graziano), Gillingham Town (Rob Hollard and Sam Hodges) and Truro (Ollie Haste), as all were postponed.

We assume Max Evans‘ loan at Bedford Town has been concluded ahead of schedule (he was meant to be with the Eagles until 19th Jan) as he was once again not involved for them.

And then there’s Will Dawes up at Stratford who was also not involved for the Bards, it’s unclear if his ‘short term’ deal has come to an end or not.

Another Saturday means it’s time for another edition of the original and best #YTFC Loan Watch.

It wasn’t a great day for many of the Glovers loanees though.

Let’s start at Sherborne Town.
The Zebra’s started Jake Graziano in defence and Benjani Jnr was back amongst the substitutes after recovering from a slight injury.

However, their side fell 3-1 to Buckland Athletic.

At Gillingham (with a hard G) Sam Hodges and Rob Hollard will have to wait for their debut after the Gills’ (again, hard G) game against match against Brislington fell foul to the weather.

To Plymouth where Mother Nature was the winner as Parkway’s game against Gosport Borough was also a wash out.

Toby Stephens and Ollie Hulbert will have to wait for their next appearance.

Speaking of those who didn’t play, Max Evans was left out of the Bedford Town squad to play Hednesford Town.

Bedford signed goalkeeper Dale Eve from Hereford this week and he appears to have got the nod. Evans’ loan spell was due to end on January 19th.

Back to those who did play on the weekend and Will Dawes was back in action for Stratford Town.

King’s Langley FC scored two late goals to turn the game around and take three points.

Dawes played the full 90.

As did Ollie Haste at Truro who was part of the White Tigers’ action packed 2-2 draw away at Hendon.

Plenty of these sides are back in midweek action so stay tuned for more round ups on the Gloverscast.

Plenty of games took place on Monday 2nd of January will lots of Yeovil Town connections with no fewer than seven Glovers out on loan.

We’ll start at Sherborne who picked up a 2-1 win over Ilfracombe Town.

Last week’s goal scoring hero Benjani missed out on the match day squad with a slight injury, but Yeovil Under 18s captain Jake Graziano was spotted on the Zebra’s bench.

Next at Bedford Town, Max Evans completed his second 90minutes for his adopted side, unfortunately he and his side were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.

To Truro we go where Ollie Haste was back in the starting line up after missing out last time.

He played 90 minutes as the White Tigers picked up a vital win to keep the pressure on the league leaders Weston super-Mare.

Speaking of WSM, they scraped past Plymouth Parkway 1-0.

Both Toby Stephens and Ollie Hulbert started on the bench with Stephens introduced on the hour.

Finally, Stratford Town’s game was postponed today as the club continues to mourn the loss of their player Cody Fisher who tragically passed away last week.

We at the Gloverscast join the rest of the football world, in wishing Yeovil loanee Will Dawes, everyone at Stratford Town and Cody’s family and friends well at this difficult time.

It was a busy boxing day for the six Glovers loanees out and about.

Starting at the Bolitho Ground where ground-sharers Truro City and Plymouth Parkway faced each other in a game that ended 3-3 thanks to a 92nd minute Truro equaliser.

For Plymouth Parkway, Toby Stephens started and clocked up 68 minutes. Ollie Hulbert was used from the bench with just 5 minutes left, also.

Truro, have their own Glovers loanee in the shape of Ollie Haste, but he was left as an unused sub.

Next up a debut victory for Max Evans.

His Bedford side were 6-1 winners over AFC Rushden and Diamonds… and the eagles missed a penalty!

Up at our “close friends”, Stratford Town, Will Dawes started and played the full 90 in a 4-0 loss to Tamworth.

He may not have scored, but was awarded the sponsor’s Man of the Match award.

Benjani Jnr scores for Sherborne
? John Taylor / Sherborne Town FC

….but we’ve saved the best until last with our actual close friends Sherborne Town where Benjani Jnr scored the opening goal in a 1-1 draw against Street.

Well done to Benjani and all the Glovers loanees for a busy Boxing Day of action.

At a time where there’s not much football on, only one of the Glovers loanees got some game time on Saturday.

Ollie Haste got 90 minutes for Truro.

They lost 1-0 to Dorchester Town with a first half goal the difference between the two sides.

All other loanees saw their games postponed due to the weather.

Toby Stephens and Ollie Hulbert were scheduled to be part of the Plymouth Parkway squad away at Barnet in the FA Trophy (note… Stephens has played in the Trophy already, but Hulbert’s participation wasn’t guaranteed – but we guess he can now become available as his parent club are out.)

Benjani Jr hasn’t yet kicked a ball for Sherborne, whilst Will Dawes return to Stratford town has been stalled by the weather.

Most sides have games midweek as the fixtures begin to pile up.

There were just two of the four Glovers’ loanees in action on Tuesday night

Will Dawes, who is back on loan at Stratford Town after his five-figure transfer from the Bards in the summer, played the full 90 minutes as his re-adopted side lost 4-2 to Alvechurch.

Dawes did set up the 2nd goal for his side and saw an effort of his own cannon back off the bar.

Over in Plymouth, Ollie Hulbert had to wait until the 75th minute to get a taste of the action as Plymouth Parkway drew 0-0 with Bracknall.

There was no place in the squad for Toby Stephens.

On Wednesday evening, defender Ollie Haste, was an unused substitute in Truro City’s 1-1 draw with Beaconsfield. The defender had appeared as a 66th minute substitute for the first team in the Somerset Men’s Premier Cup win over Taunton Town the night before.

All three of Yeovil Town’s loan players made team-sheets for their respective clubs on Saturday, but only two played and only one started.

Firstly, defender Ollie Haste was back in the Truro City side after missing a couple games due to a slight injury, he was an unused substitute, as the White Tigers found a last- minute winner to beat Harrow Borough 2-1 in the Southern League Premier Division South.

The young defender has sat out recent matches through injury.

Over at Plymouth Parkway, striker Ollie Hulbert played the full 90 for his temporary side in a 1-0 defeat to Hanwell Town in the Southern League Premier Division South.

Midfielder Toby Stephens was named on the bench for the game and game on shortly after the hour mark.

Both Truro and Parkwat have midweek games where the trio will all hope to get more game time.

Only one of Yeovil Town’s two loanees was in action for their loan clubs this weekend.

Midfielder Toby Stephens played a pivotal role for Plymouth Parkway in a 3-1 win home win over Hayes and Yeading in the Southern League Premier Division South

He played through a “delicious” ball for former Glovers’ loanee Ben Seymour to score the opening goal and played the full 90 minutes.

Defender Ollie Haste wasn’t named in the matchday squad for Truro City’s trip to the Metropolitan Police, a result which keeps Paul Wootton’s side a point ahead of Weston-super-Mare at the top of the Southern League Premier Division South.

The Gloverscast understands he took a slight knock in training on Friday and was advised by the Yeovil medical staff to sit out this weekend, but should be back on the pitch sooner rather than later.

Let’s keep this one quick.

With neither Yeovil Town or Plymouth Parkway in action on Saturday, the only contracted Glover in action was Ollie Haste, and even he had to wait for his chance.

Truro gave North Shields a bit of a thrashing winning 6-0, but Haste had to wait 70 minutes to get on the pitch.

The Glovers’ defender replaced Shane White with the score at 3-0 before the White Tigers rattled three more goals in.

Nice work, Ollie.
