Craig Leader 1991-2023

Friends and family of Glovers’ fan Craig Leader have asked that Yeovil Town fans come together to remember their loved one in the upcoming game against Tonbridge Angels this Saturday.

Mark Puddy, Craig’s close friend, has confirmed that a piece remembering the long time supporter will appear in the match day programme, whilst supporters are asked to take a moment to applaud Craig in the 31st minute of the game.

Mark approached the Gloverscast and wanted Yeovil Town supporters to know a little bit about Craig, sadly taken too soon, the following words are from Mark, but echoed by us all at the Gloverscast.

“It is with great sadness to receive the news that Craig Leader has passed away at the young age of 31.

Craig was the kindest, most genuine, loyal and good hearted person you could meet in a lifetime. Always putting others before himself.

Outside of football, he loved his darts, skittles, and cricket. Craig won 3 league titles with his some of his closest friends playing for Dart Vaders. He was also a big part of Blue Park Rangers tittle and cup winning achievements. He will be a big loss to all the sports teams he was involved in.
And will be an even bigger loss to all his family and friends, who loved him so dearly.

And obviously Craig was a massive Yeovil Town FC fan. Buying his first and the group’s first season ticket aged 18 in the home terrace. Moving us all from our comfy seats into the loud and amazing atmosphere that was the home terrace. We all owe Craig the amazing memories we have from the terrace most notably Sheffield United in the league one Play offs.

And of course, many away days on the GWSC. Few that stand out are Carlisle United four times. Once one a Tuesday night. Picking up one point in the process.
Hartlepool when on arrival a steward got on coach and told us the game was snowed off. So, we had a McDonald’s and headed home.

And Millwall the first of our Championship dream.
Craig will be missed by so many , just seeing the comments and tributes on social media shows what kind of person Craig was.”
