Ed talks candidly about his time at Huish Park, how he broke into Terry Skiverton’s team and departing midway through our Championship season.
Joe Edwards has revealed he knew that Yeovil Town would book their place in the League One play-off final from the minute he ran out for the warm in the semi-final second leg against Sheffield United in 2013.
The former Glovers’ midfielder and captain has spoken about the 2-0 win over the Blades on the latest edition of the GloversPast.
Speaking ahead of his first return to Huish Park with Plymouth Argyle in this weekend’s pre-season friendly, he said: “Coming out before the game you could just feel the atmosphere, I had never felt anything like that.
“Even though it was a smaller stadium than I had played in before or after, that was my favourite warm up ever.
“It was packed as soon as we came out, I knew we were going to win from that moment, it just had that feeling and we replicated that with the way we started.”

Former Yeovil Town defender Nathan Smith has told the Gloverscast about his favourite ever goal in green and white – but it’s probably not the one you are thinking of.
The former Jamaican international scored a goal of the season contender in a 4-2 home defeat against Stockport County during his first spell at the club in December 2008.
Talking to us for the latest edition of the GloversPast, he revealed that goal was no fluke: “Andre McCollin can attest to it. The day before we were in training doing shooting and I think it was Jonesey (Nathan Jones) who said to me ‘keep working on your striking, put the ball down and strike through it.’
“That’s all I was doing and when I scored it I felt a relief knowing a bit of practice and seeing that ball fly like it did fly, it felt sweet.
“But the one that means more to me than the rest of them was against Plymouth in the cup because at the time my Mum was close to losing her life and no-one knew about that.
“So when I show a few of my goals, people always look at that screamer against Stockport as my favourite, but because of everything that was going on behind the scenes, it made that moment a lot more special.”
The goal against Plymouth Argyle came in a 2-1 home win in a League Two match at the end of January 2017, you can see it on a video shot from the Thatcher’s End – here. The Stockport goal is better though, see below.

On the 18th of May, it will be 15 years since one of the most iconic nights in Yeovil Town’s history took place. Our famous 5-2 victory at The City Ground lives long in the memory of supporters and a goalscorer on the night, Lee Morris.
Speaking to the Gloverscast on the newest edition of the Glovers Past series, Morris talked fondly of his time at Huish Park and in great detail of that amazing night.
Despite the absence of the ‘leader of men’, Terry Skiverton, throughout the playoff campaign, Morris was always confident that the Glovers would overturn the 2-0 deficit.
He said: “We had big personalities all over the field, Mildy (Steve Mildenhall) was a big character in goal. Forbesy (Terrell Forbes) was a brilliant lad you’d do anything for. Jonesy (oh come on you know!) on one side, and Lindy, the local lad who was Mr Yeovil on the other. Chris in the the middle of the park and Davo came alive in them games.
“I think all over the pitch, you looked around and looked at everybody and thought, ‘yeah I believe he’s going to make something happen here’, I believe he’s gonna be strong and he’s gonna keep going.’
“We had enough personality out there that I certainly believed, all the way through, that someone could come up with something, you know.”
They sure came up with something in the end.

Yeovil Town promotion-winning captain Jamie McAllister has told the Gloverscast that he wanted to stay at Huish Park when he was released in 2014.
The Scotsman had made 40 appearances as the Glovers were relegated from the Championship after just one season and said he expected to be offered a new contract.
Speaking on the latest interview in our GloversPast series, he said: “The big low was getting let go. I’d played 40-odd games in the Championship, I was expecting to sign a new deal, but it never came.
“I wanted to stay and play another year or two, but for whatever reason, it didn’t happen.
“It wasn’t down to finances or anything, I just never got offered anything which was disappointing.”
In the interview, he talks to us about how Gary Johnson’s vision of what he could achieve at Yeovil led him to turn down a move north of the border, his memories of that magical day at Wembley in 2013, and playing in front of crowds of more than 80,000 having moved to the Indian Super League having left Yeovil.
Shaun MacDonald has said joining Yeovil Town on loan was the best thing that ever happened in his career.
The Wales international midfielder had no fewer than five spells in green-and-white (which we think is a record) made his first move to Huish Park in January 2009 after a call from Darren Way who had played alongside MacDonald at Swansea City.
In fact, the call came whilst Way was in hospital recovering from a car accident and what an inspired move it proved with the loanee scoring on his debut.
Speaking to the Gloverscast for the latest instalment of our GloversPast series talking to former players, he said: “Looking back now, it was the best thing that ever happened to me signing for Yeovil because I played every game when I was fit.
“I had such a good bond with the club and the fans and looking back we had some good players and we always did the club proud.
“I felt like a Yeovil player. I felt comfortable at Yeovil Town, I felt we could achieve something, we wanted to avoid relegation every year and I liked the fact the club was an underdog every year in League One.
“I enjoyed that challenge and most importantly I got on really well with everyone at the club, so there was never any reason not to go back.”
