Danny Webb is set to be named the new Yeovil Town manager according to BBC Somerset’s Jack Killah.
The Senior Sports Reporter for Somerset tweeted the below:
Webb, who played 7 times for Yeovil between 2006 and 2007, has been Assistant Manager at Chesterfield since 2021.
Richard Dryden will manage this weekends match against Woking, but we await official confirmation from the club.
Yeovil Town fell to York City last Saturday, a 3-1 scoreline with a solitary goal from Luke McCormick all the Glovers had to really shout about.
In terms of who impressed you, well, that was Josh Sims, he takes his second MOTM poll of the season, the other against Halifax away.

Yeovil Town host Woking in a lunchtime kick off this Saturday, (reminder – 12:30pm, not 3pm!).
Adrian Quelch is our official, one of the National League more experienced match referees.
In fact, according to Transfermarkt, only five officials have taken charge of more National League games than Mr Quelch – who is up to 115.
In those 115 games, he’s dished out 403 yellows, 14 red cards and pointed to the penalty spot 16 times.
It’s probably no surprise then that he’s well versed on all things Huish Park, this will be his 12th time officiating the Glovers and his 7th at the home of football.
In his previous 11 encounters with the Glovers, we’ve won three, drawn five and lost three.
But it has been a while since the last time we saw him, back in the 2022/23 season, a 2-2 draw against Maidstone Utd; Morgan Williams and Mark Cooper both saw yellow.
This season, he’s been in charge of just two games, both in the Premier League 2 division for U21 sides.
Adrian will be joined by Sean Rothwell and Scott Chalkley with Oliver Taylor on fourth official duties.

Somerset Council has confirmed a two-year extension to the exclusivity period which Yeovil Town’s owners have to buy-back land at Huish Park.
The option which is held by Yeovil Town Holdings Limited, the business bought by owner Prabhu Srinivasan from former owner Martin Hellier in a deal last May, had been due to expire next May and will now run until 17 May 2028.
In a statement issued on Monday, the council confirmed that the club is now paying £229,130 per year after an “indexed rent review” in May saw it leap from the original £195,000 per year rate.
Responding to the decision, Mr Srinivasan said: “From the outset we have been clear with supporters that our aim is to buy back Huish Park Stadium and reunite it with the football club. The process is complex and takes time, and we are grateful to Somerset County Council for affording us the opportunity to develop our plans with stakeholders, partners, and the local authority so that this becomes a truly meaningful endeavour for both the club and the wider community.
“Together, we are committed to creating a brighter future for both Yeovil Town Football Club and Somerset, built around sustainability and our ambitious plans for the club and the community. There is so much more to come, and having Somerset County Council as a key partner is hugely important to us. The extension of this buyback is a clear testament to the united and positive way in which our partnership has begun and how we wish to move forward.”
Councillor Mike Rigby, the council’s Lead Member for Economic Development Planning and Assets, said: “This is a positive outcome from recent discussions with the new owners. YTFC is the only professional football club in Somerset and it makes a significant contribution to both the local economy and more widely in terms of community, education and local civic pride.
“A successful future for Yeovil Town Football Club supports Somerset Council’s priorities through the promotion of sport and healthier lifestyles within the community at all ages through the football club’s strong community and education links. It also adds to opportunities in the area for our residents through the economic benefits a successful professional club provides, while a future capital receipt will reduce our capital financing requirement.”
The statement also revealed the buy-back price for Huish Park and surrounding land stands at £2.789m.
The council, seemingly keen to make tax-payers know they are not using public funds to invest in football clubs, concluded the statement saying: “This decision, as before, does not mean Somerset Council either owns or is a shareholder in the football club, nor is it involved in any decision-making at the club. It means Yeovil Football and Athletic Club Limited and Yeovil Town Holdings Limited is a tenant of Somerset Council.“
Yeovil Town have been drawn away at Saltash United in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Qualifying Round.
Following their 6-1 demolition of league rivals Wells City on Sunday, they will make the trip to Cornwall in a couple of weeks time.
The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday 21st of September, which means their league game on that date against Weston-super-Mare will need to be rearranged.

Better late than never as they say. Ian was at Huish Park on Saturday and here are his Five Conclusions from a difficult afternoon in the sun.
We were outclassed. The gulf between two sides couldn’t have been more obvious. York’s squad has been very expensively assembled and the way they controlled the game was impressive. The way they passed at pace with one and two touch passes is everything we should aspire to be. We had no response for their runners as they methodically pulled green and white shirts out of position.
James Plant needed help. I get the back three with our current availability, but poor James Plant was left on toast by Joe Felix all day. It wasn’t until it was probably too late that Josh Sims moved over to the left to offer more protection than Junior Morias. Felix had the better of Plant repeatedly and Plant’s afternoon was summed up with the conceding of the penalty. Would we have been better as a back four with a left midfielder to double up on Felix? Probably. Would that have taken an attacking threat away? Probably. Would it have made any difference? Probably not.
We look tired. Clearly having a small squad with injuries to key players increases the work load on these players and its showing. I thought our substitutes looked like they’d played the full 90 when they were on the pitch. With no back up in the fullback positions we’re asking a centre-back to come in do a job at right wing back, we’re asking Josh Sims – our most impressive attacking player this season – to cover off defensively when we need his impact higher up. Without Alex Whittle, Charlie Cooper and James Daly, this small squad of quality needs a top up sharpish.
Luke McCormick is quickly becoming my favourite. Since moving to centre midfield we’ve seen what a player we have in McCormick. Energy, running with the ball and a brilliant finish on Saturday shows he has goals in his game too….ahem. We need to protect him though, because if he has to come out of the team our midfield really is weakened. With Charlie Cooper still out and Finn Cousin-Dawson in the unenviable position of utility man, there is a lot of pressure on McMidfield to play the full 90 if matches are in the balance.
We need to get this appointment sorted. I am all for patience. Hell, I was waiting two and half years for us to produce the kind of football we saw undo us on Saturday. But these players need direction, new ways or working and a bit of a rocket to get out of this funk. The next three matches are what I would consider winnable. We won’t just these players on York and Forest Green Rovers but if we’re going to be looking up rather than over our shoulders, Woking, Tamworth and Aldershot are the teams we must be competitive against.
Women advance in FA Cup
Yeovil Town Women kicked off their Adobe FA Cup campaign in style as they hammered Wells City 6-1 in their first competitive fixture of the 2025/26 season.
After a productive pre season, Dave Court’s side entered the new term with renewed confidence and belief.
Zara Hunt personified this confidence, as she was heavily involved in the action from the off. After threatening in the opening minutes, she set up Chloe Davenport in the 11th minute, who gave Yeovil the lead and opened her account for the season.
The Glovers’ gallant first half display continued, as they doubled their lead in the 30th minute through Mollie Childs.
After an impressive first 45, and with one eye on the next round, Yeovil went in at the break 2-0 up.
A five-goal second period began with 19 minutes of deadlock, as neither team were able to make a statement early in the second half.
In the 64th minute an own goal gave Yeovil one foot in the next round, as they saw themselves go 3-0 up.
The Glovers’ hopes of an FA Cup clean sheet to start the season went out of the window four minutes later, as the hosts pulled one back.
Moments later Yeovil responded in perfect fashion and put the tie to bed, courtesy of debutant Lily McNally. She converted impressively to give the visitors daylight.
Zara Hunt’s fast start to the tie was replicated in the latter stages, as she scored twice, turning a convincing win into a battering. Her goals in the 85th and 92nd minute topped off a fantastic afternoon in the FA Cup for Yeovil Town Women.
New manager Dave Court spoke following his first competitive win at the helm for Yeovil:
“ I think it was a really good advert for women’s football. Wells are a decent side, they like to play and they caused us problems. I think especially in the first half they had some really good movement. So really pleased with the togetherness of the girls.”
Court praised not just the four different goal-scorers on the day but also his team’s creativity,
“It’s obviously massively important to score goals and I think if we’ve got different threats that bodes well for the future.
It’s not just about the goal scorers. I think it’s about the passes and then the organisation that leads to the goals as much as the actual goal scorer.
I’m sure you know the girls who scored the goals, the first people that they would turn around and thank and congratulate are the ones who’ve made the assists or contributed to the goal.”
An impressive day going forward was matched by a solid defensive performance from the Glovers,
“I think we actually defended really well from the front. I thought our front players defended really well and in the shape that we’d asked them to do.
I think it’s really important that the defenders and Emily in goal, recognise that actually the work that the front players and the midfield put in really contributed towards the solidity that we had. A real good team effort.”
Looking ahead, Yeovil Town Women begin their league campaign next week, as they take on Appledore FC,
“I think the most important thing is there’s a bunch of girls that are just really enjoying being together at the moment. Obviously there’ll be different problems, we’ll have to find different solutions next week.
We’ll work hard in training, but we’re not going to get carried away by winning, the same way we won’t get too low if we lose. So enjoy today, but then back into training next week and look forward to what I know is going to be another really tough test next Sunday.”

Yeovil Town fans heading to Tamworth on Saturday 20th September can now buy their tickets.
It’s a fairly simple process, once you’re in there’s two options; Main Stand or Terrace tickets. Prices are as follows – yes, they have snuck up by a £1 since we were there last year. Whilst the ‘fee’ has risen from 0.95p to £1.50! 
You will need to create an account, or log in from last year if you were lucky enough to go to that 0-0 screamer. The following disclaimer suggests those wishing to sit, or those who are 17 years old or younger MUST plan ahead.
“All tickets for those aged 17 years and under MUST be purchased online in advance of the game (Tickets remain on sale online up to 3.00pm on a match day). There will be NO tickets for sale for any young person aged 17 and under in person from our Matchday Ticket Office at the ground on the day of the game, UNLESS the young person is accompanied by a paying adult/adult season ticket holder. This applies to both home and away supporters.
Main Stand tickets will be taken off sale at 1:00pm on match day and will then only available from the Ticket Office.
Concession tickets are 66 years old and above.

We begin in Surrey, where Woking hammered Gateshead in a 5-0 game. Aiden O’Brien and Tariq Hinds sent the hosts into the lead in the first half, before ex-Glover Jamie Andrews and a Joshua Osude brace compounded the Heed Army’s misery. In the evening kickoff, Aldershot Town continued to provide plenty of entertainment in a 2-2 draw against Brackley Town – Josh Barrett gave the hosts the lead shortly before half-time, before Ben Jackson was sent off for the hosts, Shane Byrne converting the resulting penalty. Matt Lowe then handed Brackley the lead, but just two minutes later, it was level again as Archy Taylor found a way through for the Shots.
There were goals aplenty on Saturday, including three 3-0 wins, all for home sides; Carlisle United dismantled Truro City, with an early double from Luke Armstrong and a Regan Linney strike sending the admirable 78 Truro fans home empty handed, a Lewis Richardson goal and a Matt Rush brace for Boreham Wood downed 10-man Morecambe, and Southend United dismantled 10-man FC Halifax Town, courtesy of goals from Andrew Dallas, Gus Scott-Morriss and Ben Goodliffe – Adam Alimi-Adetoro was sent off for the visitors with twenty minutes remaining.
In the lunchtime kickoff, Altrincham came from behind to defeat Sutton United; Ashley Nadesan gave the visitors the lead, before second half goals from Jimmy Knowles and James Gale secured the win for the Robins. In their first game since sacking Matt Taylor, Solihull Moors bagged their first win of the season in a win over Boston United, Jacob Wakeling scoring two goals either side of former Glover Jordy Hiwula’s strike for the hosts.
For an unprecedented second game in a row, Scunthorpe United had their game abandoned due to injury; the Iron were winning 2-1 at home to Wealdstone, before Daniel Nkrumah went down with a shoulder injury. Following treatment on the field, he was eventually stretchered off, and the Wealdstone players headed to their dressing room. Following discussion, it was announced that the match would be abandoned, leaving another game in the hands of the National League for the unbeaten hosts.
Two goals in seven minutes for summer signing Mani Dieseruvwe sent him top of the scoring charts, Rochdale into second place, and Braintree Town home with nothing to show for their efforts. A fiery encounter between Tamworth and Eastleigh saw red cards for both Kwaku Donkor and Temi Eweka for their respective sides, but the hosts came out on top thanks to a Manny Duku strike, while Forest Green Rovers continued their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 1-0 win over Hartlepool United, thanks to a Kairo Mitchell goal.
