Yeovil Town Women were in a comfortable position at 3-1 vs Sydenham Rangers Ladies in their first-ever Somerset County Women’s League Division One – before the game was stopped in the second half due to an injury to an opposition player.
Goals from Abbie Carslake, Holly Weaver-Coals and Jess Hodge saw the Glovers go 3-0 after a dominant first half performance at the Somerton Recreation Ground on Sunday.
The visitors, who were promoted to Division One having finished second in Division Two South last season, pulled a goal back in the second half before the game was called off due to an injury to a visiting player.
According to the team’s official social media, the teams had ‘agreed’ on a YTWFC win, however, the official outcome is still to be determined by County Officials.
Play was stopped in the 61st minute.
We join YTWFC in wishing the Sydenham player the best for a full recovery.
Unfortunatly the game has been ended due to an injury to a Sydenham player. Whilst our immediate thoughts are with Sydenham it is agreed as a 3-1 win to YTWFC

I’d be very, very surprised if the result stands, it’s been a few years since I was involved with a team in that league but previous abandoned games all had to be replayed
