Foot In The Opposition Camp – Alvechurch (H)
It’s FA Trophy action today and the Glovers face a team we’re pretty sure we never have before in Alvechurch. Dave spoke to their Sporting Director Mark Fogarty.
This is an example page. It's different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:
Hi there! I'm a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin' caught in the rain.)
...or something like this:
The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

Cardiff City academy product Dakarai Mafico has joined Yeovil Town on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has started four times for the League One side this season, including a league debut in the Bluebirds’ opening game of the season when he played as a makeshift left-back having impressed in pre-season.
He also made his international debut for Wales’ Under-21s last November.
In an announcement on Friday, Glovers’ manager Billy Rowley said: “Dakarai is a talented young player who has already shown he can compete at a high level. We’re thrilled to bring him to Yeovil Town, and I’m confident he will add pace, energy, and creativity to our midfield as we push through the season.”
The youngster added: “I’m really excited to join Yeovil Town and to get the chance to play regular first-team football. I’ve heard a lot about the club and the team, and I can’t wait to contribute and help the squad wherever I can.”
Speaking this week, Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy said he expected Mafico to go out on loan adding the experience would be valuable to the player’s development. The boss spoke highly of the youngster following his league debut earlierthis season.
He said: “Dakarai has been outstanding in pre-season for us, so he was naturally the next option to play left back. He’s an exceptional player, but he’s never played left back before I came to the Club. He’s an elite number 6, and when you see him play there, it’ll be clear to you how good he is.
“He shows courage in everything he does, he’s an incredible talent, and one the supporters are going to fall in love with once they see him play more.”
A pause in league action for Yeovil Town this weekend as they host Alvechurch in the Fourth Round of the FA Trophy.
Across their last five games, the Glovers have won two, lost two and drawn one. The performances have been ok, but the loss to Truro is a tough pill to swallow.

The Worcestershire side currently ply their trade in the Southern Premier League. The Church haven’t had the best season to date and will be looking to the FA Trophy as a reprieve. The Church lie one place above the relegation zone in the league with seven wins from 21 games. However, over their last five games Alvechurch have had the exact same form as Yeovil, two wins, two losses and a draw.
In their previous game, the Church lost to Stratford 2-1 away from home. That day, Alvechurch conceded the first goal in the 35th minute and were quickly down two when Josh Hawker doubled the lead in the 39th minute. The Worcestershire side then got their consolation goal in the 56th minute through Jez Abbey,

For a winger, Daly has contributed rather largely defensively as well, with five balls recovered a game, seven dual wins per game and he also wins 53% of headers he goes for. Under Rowley, it feels that Daly will be an integral part of his squad going forward, especially with Aaron Jarvis looking like the preferred number nine for the wingers to target.
I have chosen two players as I feel both are important to their side. Abbey, is a Dutch midfielder whose career started at Wolves and hasn’t strayed far from the Midlands since. So far this season, the 22-year-old has bagged six goals for the Church making him their top scorer.
Although at the ripe age of 36, Kristin Pearce has a wealth of experience to his name, with 579 appearances throughout the football pyramid. The majority of his games came in League Two for Mansfield Town. The Bajan has played Yeovil 10 times in his career with four wins, three draws and three losses to his name.
The Nuneaton man has been a recognisable face in the lower levels of English football, with over 630 games. Only a handful of those games have been at League Two level with Cheltenham Town in 2016.
This is Storer’s first full time foray into management.
The two sides have never met in a competitive match.

Elliott Swallow is the man in charge for this FA Trophy fixture. For more information on him and his team for Saturday check out Ben’s article – here.
Not a cheerful one folks. We were gutted about the news of Morgan Williams departure. He’s a huge loss, has been a great ambassador for the club and deserves to leave on his terms. But, it leaves one hell of a hole on and off the pitch.
Luke McCormick has picked up in January where he left off in December by picking up yet another Man of the Match Vote from the Gloverscast readers.
Firstly, we’d like to say thanks to the 160 of you who voted, the most we’ve had for a single vote this season.
McCormick was one of four different players to get 20 or more votes, with the third place spot being a tie between the other scorers on the day, James Daly and Brett McGavin.
Aaron Jarvis finished second in the vote, but all three were a fair way behind the man with the new contract, Luke McCormick.

Yeovil Town have announced defender Morgan Williams has joined fellow National League side York City for “an undisclosed fee“.
Williams, who won the National League South with the Glovers in the 2023-24 season, leaves Somerset after almost 200 appearances in green and white. He has eight league goals to his name for Yeovil, including plenty of late strikes during that title-winning season.
The 26-year-old was out of contract in the summer and would have been available to leave for free at the end of the season.
In a statement, the Glovers said: “The club offered Morgan a long-term contract in an effort to retain his services, however he has chosen to move back up north to be closer to his family.
“We would like to place on record our thanks to Morgan for his commitment and contribution during his time with Yeovil Town, and wish him well for the future.“
In a post on his Instagram, Williams posted a message to Yeovil fans saying: “I just wanted to say a massive thankyou for everything. The memories we’ve made over the years will always have a special place in my heart. Yeovil has been home to my family and I for the past five years and along the way I’ve met some unbelievable people and made friends for life.
“I wish this club nothing but success and all the very best for the future. MW4.”

He has worn no fewer than five different squad numbers across multiple spells, initially on loan from Coventry City in the 2019-20 season, but then on a permanent deal in July 2021. Most recently the coveted number 4 shirt.
Williams played for eight different managers, including those in interim charge, during his time in Somerset, (Darren Sarll, Charlie Lee, Josh Staunton, Chris Hargreaves, Mark Cooper, Richard Dryden, Danny Webb and current boss Billy Rowley) and leaves the club as one of the finest defenders to represent the side in recent years.
His work off the pitch, with his own coaching sessions and community work has made him one of the most well respected and liked members of the squad.
A multiple Glovies’ winner, a National League South champion and a player we are proud to say graced the pitch at Huish Park.
Good luck, Morgs. All the best.

Update: Yeovil Town have signed midfielder Jonathon Page from Walton & Hersham until the end of the season with an option of a further year.
Speaking to YTFC.net, Page said: “I’m really excited to be joining Yeovil Town and to be working with Billy and Darren again. I’ve seen the plans they have for the team and the club, and I’m looking forward to contributing and helping the squad achieve our goals this season.”
Billy Rowley, who has swooped in on another player he knows well, said: “Jonathon is a talented, disciplined defensive midfielder who brings experience and energy to our squad. We’ve seen him develop over the years, and I know he’ll make an immediate impact at Huish Park. We’re delighted to welcome him to Yeovil Town.”
Earlier today the official account of Walton & Hersham posted on X: We can confirm Jonathon Page has left the club to take up an opportunity higher up the pyramid with Yeovil Town. After joining us from Farnborough, he became an important part of our squad and now moves on to the National League.

Page, 24, was a product of the Fulham Academy and spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Farnborough before spells at Aldershot, Hampton and Richmond and Walton.
Welcome to Yeovil Town, Jonathon.
A Huish Park regular returning to take centre stage on Saturday as we welcome Elliott Swallow to the ground as our match day referee.
Swallow has officiated the Glovers 12 times in his career – in fact, only Wealdstone and Woking (both 13) – have seen him more often than the Glovers.
Most recently, during the home game against Braintree in the 24/25 season, you know the one where Brett McGavin latched on to a through ball from Dylan Morgan and wrapped the game up late on, the 3-1 win, that one? Yeah, you remember.
Four Yeovil players got booked that day, McGavin himself, Morgan Williams, Ed James and Michael Smith.
Here’s an odd quirk, he’s given us two penalties – but one of them kind of didn’t happen.
He awarded us a spot kick away at King’s Lynn – despatched by Dale Gorman, but Joe Quigley missed one in a game against Dover during the behind-closed-doors season which would go on to be stricken from the records when Dover’s results were expunged.
He also took charge of memorable wins over Bath City and Torquay in the National League South.
Overall, 12 Glovers games have seen five wins, four draws and three defeats.
This season, he’s taken charge of 18 games across a range of competitions, dishing out 76 yellows, three reds and four penalties awarded.

Yeovil Town have admitted a charge of ‘Mass Confrontation’ following the game against Hartlepool United in December.
Following the full time whistle of the match there was some… shenanigans… involving just about everyone on both sides which spilled into the tunnel and was all round unpleasant.
Both sides were charged with Mass Confrontation and both sides admitted the charges; Hartlepool were slapped to the tune of £1000, the Glovers £800.
Furthermore both Jermaine Francis and Morgan Williams appealed their red cards on the grounds of ‘Clearly Excessive’, both were dismissed, and both players missed three games.
You may remember some rather unruly scenes where a specatator jumped the barrier and made a charge for the players – the Gloverscast has been in touch with both Hartlepool United and Cleveland Police on the matter, but have not received an adequate response from either regarding the matter. No notice that the person involved was found, charged, evicted, anything… which isn’t really up to standard.
