Yeovil Town chairman Scott Priestnall has said a deal to buy the club has been done.

In a statement issued less than an hour before a meeting of supporters to discuss the club’s future, the owner broke his silence to announce the deal with a buyer which he said “has the best interests of the club at heart.”

The owner, who has not been heard from since he announced he had signed an exclusivity agreement on December 31 last year, said he hoped to “to provide further details” tomorrow.”

In a statement, Priestnall said: “I wish to announce that a deal has been agreed for the purchase of the club. This has taken a substantial period of time and a lot of work on all sides.

I am confident that the buyer has the best interests of the club at heart and will begin a new and exciting time for the club.

I regret I have not been able to provide more regular updates, but these matters must take their course and are governed by various interim agreements.

As always, I wish Yeovil Town Football Club all the best for the times ahead. I hope to be able to provide further details tomorrow.”

Weird. I thought the deal with Uggla was done a while ago so has the Chairman been dealing with another group at the same time……or is Uggla back on the scene.

Martin Hellier has posted on Twitter that he intends to make a statement tomorrow. “Please hold off speculating until then” he requests!
What else can we do with no facts, Martin?

Now I wonder why he would posts such a thing! Perhaps it’s because ….

Will only believe it when the ink is dry on the contract! SP has turned lying in to an art form. Still you never know, whatever the deal is its unlikely to be wonderful for YTFC, still I would loved to be proved wrong

Will it be Martin Hellier who is the knight in shining armour? I guess we’ll find out today!

Whoever it is will have to have deep pockets. On top of all the bills owed another £50,000 is owed next week for the rent and again in September!

Wherever you look it’s money, money instead of football I’m afraid.

I sincerely hope that Yeovil FC has been bought, we need someone to take on the club spend money, get some players, good manager, let’s hope we have been taken over, please don’t keep us guessing, we deserve the truth as Yeovil fc fans, this is why we are where we are because we have not got anyone to put money in the club… Give us some good news….
