As pre-season edges ever closer, I’m back with some transfer round-ups of all 24 National League clubs, giving you a view of all the ins and outs ahead of our new season, and who we may be coming up against!

Each week, we’ll be covering who has moved where for not only ourselves, but for our upcoming National League opponents, to keep you all in the loop ahead of the coming 2025/26 National League season! (source: Transfermarkt)

Glovers’ Corner

Before we dive into the National League ins and outs, let’s look at the former Glovers that have moved about in the last couple of weeks. We may miss a few, so if any of you see any we may have missed, tag us on Facebook or Twitter (or X), or leave a comment below and we’ll add them in the next week’s round-up!

There have been  a fair few moves for former Glovers, these are the ones we’ve identified at Gloverscast HQ! Reuben Reid made the forbidden move, joining W*ymouth from Weston-super-Mare shortly after the previous season finished. Josh Neufville, who had two loan spells with the club, jumped from one promotion winning side to another, as he joined Bradford City on a three year deal. Ben Barclay has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion, while Jake Hyde and Harry Kite have both joined National League sides; you can see which sides further down in this article! The final player movement we’ve got noted is Ben Seymour, the midfielder has joined Taunton Town on a season long loan.

Into off-field moves, and we’ll kick it off with Ed Upson calling it a day; the scorer of that goal spent the final years of his playing career with with Bury Town (different team to the former EFL side Bury), and finished with 590 career appearances, 147 of which came in green and white, with 18 goals, one of which altered the history of our club forever. Ryan Mason secured his first proper management gig by stepping into the vacant West Bromwich Albion head coach role, and Jerry Gill has made his way to London, joining Dagenham & Redbridge.

Three former Macclesfield players followed him, while a former Glover, Ben Tozer, announced his retirement from football (not related to Savage’s arrival!)

Gateshead

Following a turbulent summer, in which a proposed takeover fell through, Gateshead have seen a flurry of departures, without much to replace them yet. Their sole addition is solid though, as David Ferguson joins from Hartlepool. An obscure former Glover also left the club, as Brandon Haunstrup departed for the National League South.

Yet another club in ongoing off-field crisis, and one that isn’t getting enough attention. We stand with you Morecambe fans, and hope a sale is completed swiftly for you. In light of that, not much transfer activity has happened, with just the one arrival in the form of Jack Stretton.
