National League games will be shown on the sports streaming platform DAZN for the next few seasons.

Details are somewhat thin on the ground at the moment, but it appears that TNT sports (formerly BT Sport) are no longer working with the National League.

The Non League Paper have suggested that one game per week will be selected for full, multi-camera coverage with all other NLP games available which fall outside of the usual 3pm Saturday blackout.

With all Play Off games also covered and including in a range of subscription packages including single match, monthly and season-long.

The league have announced a multi-year deal with the streaming platform ending in the early 2030’s!

General Manager Mark Ives said in a statement; “We are incredibly excited about this groundbreaking long term joint venture with DAZN, one of the biggest players in sports broadcasting and the deal demonstrates the continuing growth and reach of the National League.

“The global exposure that DAZN will bring the league and our clubs cannot be overstated.

“DAZN will be using their vast expertise in sports broadcasting and streaming to allow fans in both the UK, and internationally, to access live matches across all connected devices like never before.

“We look forward to working very closely with them to enhances the viewing experience for all fans that can’t be at the stadium, which we believe is to the full benefit of our clubs and supporters.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank TNT Sports for their full support and coverage they have provided.”

DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev (who we can only assume knows his Maidenheads from his Maidstones and what not) added: “DAZN’s technology makes us uniquely placed to create destinations for sports fans, and this multi-year partnership will allow us to create a global home for the National League, helping fans better access the teams they are so passionate about, while creating engagement opportunities to access new audiences.

“This is the latest in a series of channel deals which leverage DAZN’s scale and industry leading tech stack to revolutionise the way rights holders increase exposure to domestic and international audiences and develop their sport digitally and commercially.

Plenty of long, fancy words but it will almost certainly mean a(nother) subscription service for Glovers fans to sign up to and presumably DAZN will also host the National League TV services too.

There’s no sign of any early “Live Games” list like TNT/BT provided. So this announcement feels like it could do with a further one… or three… in the future.
