Yeovil Town match winner Will Merry told BBC Radio Somerset’s Jack Killah he is buzzing to score his first goal – and a winning goal at Huish Park in a game which saw the energy sapped out of everyone in Green and White.
“I think you hit the nail on the head, [i’m] knackered, to be fair. But…, buzzing. Absolutely buzzing. My first goal in senior football; I haven’t had many better moments so far. Yeah, happy.
I just saw the goal, to be honest. And I just thought, late stage of the game, literally just go for it”
The boys are buzzing, but they’ve played more games than me. I think they’re even more shattered, so yeah, credit to all of them, they’ve really worked hard out there.
[Billy Rowley] just makes it really clear what he wants from me. He says “express yourself on the ball,” but he also helps me be mature and with my decision-making and., he’s been class with me.
I think the boys—the older boys and the gaffer—have made it clear that we always want to play with freedom and express ourselves”
