Yeovil Town’s Luke McCormick has broken his silence regarding his elongated absence from the Glovers’ first team.
Posting on social media. McCormick has said that he has ‘never asked or wanted to leave‘ Huish Park.
He says that he has had a tough couple of weeks, which is understandable.
‘…what happens next is out of my control’ suggests that his future is still very much in the air. The midfielder was named Captain for this season, and clocked up six goals in eight games before surprisingly being left out of the win over Solihull on 18th September. He has not appeared in a match day squad since.
Following the Glovers’ 6-0 thrashing of Boston at the weekend, Manager Billy Rowley said:
“I’m never going to stand here and talk badly about any player, but the truth is Luke and I had a bit of a dispute,” Rowley revealed. “My job for this club and the dressing room is to always do what I think is best for the team, and at the moment he won’t be playing for me.”
When pressed on whether the player could feature for the club again in the future, Rowley remained tight-lipped: “We’ll have to see, but at the moment, probably not.”
