YEOVIL TOWN
The Glovers stopped a mini rot of two defeats in a row, thanks to a 1-1 draw with Aldershot in midweek, a Slavi Spasov goal was cancelled by Michee Efete in the second half in a game which saw Yeovil play for an hour or more with ten men after Loick Ayina was sent off.
That midweek fixture was the first time since the home game with Carlisle on August 15th that a Yeovil game had less than three goals in, so fans are certainly getting their money’s worth of entertainment at both ends when it comes to the Green and Whites.
Yeovil sit 10th in the table going into this round of fixtures, a win would put the Glovers back into the top seven, for 18 hours or so at least.
SOLIHULL MOORS
The Moors sit rock bottom of the National League table with eight games played.
Four points accumulated, just eight goals scored and 19 conceded. But that doesn’t quite tell the full story as Glovers’ boss Billy Rowley has eluded to. Solihull are wildly out of position based on the xG and xPts of their games so far, dominating possession, chances and shot stats against a few sides already and not having the rewards to show for it.
They did however get their first win of the season on Tuesday, a 1-0 home win over Barrow in front of less than 600 people. Scott High scoring a second half winner against a Barrow side who – like Yeovil – had a player on the naughty step from midway in the first half.
Moors’ only other point came away at Gateshead, a 1-1 draw at the start of September. They’re also two losses from two in the National League Premier League Not A Real Cup thingymajig, losing to both Middlesbrough and Leeds’ kids.
KEY PLAYERS…
YEOVIL TOWN – RYAN JONES
Back to back Gloverscast Man of the Match awards for Ryan Jones have propelled his value with Glovers fans. Impressing down the right hand side, linking up with Archie Davies and the attacking unit too, Jones has recorded assists against both Fylde and Southend, scored a goal of his own against Tamworth and is a joy to watch down the flank.
SOLIHULL MOORS – JACOB WAKELING
The Former Peterborough forward joined Solihull initially on loan last season and clocked up 29 appearances and scored nine goals, he’s already on four during this league campaign – which considering Solihull only have eight to their name this whole season suggests he’s key going forward.
He scored twice at Huish Park on a chaotic final day last season, and will be hoping to add to his tally.
THE GAFFER…
Chris Millington is in charge at Solihull these days having joined the midlands outfit in October 2025.
He’s taken charge of 47 games, winning 14, drawing 12, losing 21 – that’s a 29.8% win ratio.
He has won each of his last three meetings with Yeovil, once with Solihull, the other two were 1-0 wins when he was Halifax gaffer.
LAST TIME WE MET…
When these two last met it was the final day of the the 2025/26 season, and it was chaos.
Solihull were 3-0 up within 16 minutes, eventually winning 4-1 in a game where Yeovil had more possession, shots, corners, shots on target and final third entries.
It was the final game for a number of Glovers who left the club not long after.
Yeovil won the reverse league fixture 1-0, a Junior Morias goal the only difference maker. The Glovers last won a game against Solihull at Huish Park back in 2022, a Chiori Johnson winner the difference.

DON’T I KNOW YOU?
Ben Wodskou is part of the Solihull front line these days, albeit he wasn’t involved in their 1-0 win over Barrow.
He scored two in two prior to that, and missed a penalty in the Moors’ 2-1 defeat to Aldershot.
Jamie Andrews, a former Glovers’ loanee is also part of the Moors’ midfield.
