The Football Association has confirmed Ben Radcliffe‘s three match ban following his red card vs Altrincham on Saturday.
The defender was shown a straight red in the dying moments of the game for a challenge on the half way line and the FA have confirmed to the Gloverscast that it has been filed as ‘Serious Foul Play’.
Given the lack of cover in behind, there was perhaps a suggestion that it could have been ‘Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity’. But given the large distance between incident and goal, this was always unlikely.
Radcliffe will miss the Hornchurch game on Tuesday night, the away game at Halifax on October 31st as well as the FA Cup clash with Chesterfield the week after.
He will be available again for selection when the Glovers host Boreham Wood on November the 14th.
