Yeovil Town have confirmed that staff have been paid their April wages – albeit four days later than they should have been.

The first team turned out for the final game of the National League season on Saturday – a 1-0 defeat at Boreham Wood – despite not receiving their wages on Friday as expected.

In a statement on Tuesday, the club said: “We can confirm that Yeovil Town staff members have been paid today.

The club would like to place on the record its thanks to staff members for their patience and understanding throughout this difficult period.

With speculation over the club’s ownership continuing to rumble on, the question of who paid the wages is not mentioned in the statement.

Watch this space on that one…..
