Loan Watch (Page 4)

Well, let’s take Saturday, wrap it up in newspaper, and put it out with the rubbish shall we?

It wasn’t great for the Glovers’ first team and a couple of the loanees didn’t have a great time either.

We start in the FA Cup where Will Buse could do nothing to prevent W*ymouth exiting at the hands of Forest Green Rovers. The Vegans ran out 2-0 winners.

Plymouth Parkway lost 4-0 to Worthing in the same competition, Corey Koerner was brought off the bench in the 77th minute, with the game already pretty much done, but a brilliant experience the talisman of the Under 18s.

Back in National League South action and Jordan Thomas started for Salisbury before being replaced shortly before half time, he was taken off at 1-0 up in their game against Hornchurch.
A stoppage time goal broke their hearts (yep, same) though, the game ending 2-2. We hope Jordan is OK and won’t be out for long.

Dropping into the local divisions, it was a good week for Josh Haskett at Sherbourne; he started in their midweek League Cup clash against AFC Stoneham, a game the Zebras won on penalties, he was also involved from the bench on Saturday as Sherborne recorded a comfortable 5-1 win over Hythe and Dibden.
Joe Crisp – another one of the Under 18s – was also involved in that Midweek win.

Krystian Woods was used from the bench for Street FC who picked up another good win over Ivybridge Town.

Mason Alden was in Welton Rovers’ starting line up for their game against AFC St Austell, whilst Max Dyer was brought off the bench for Oldland Abbotonians.

The Glovers were winning and Huish Park and our loanees were finding success too on Saturday afternoon.

We start with Jordan Thomas at Salisbury who was in the starting line up and was involved in two of their goals in a 4-3 win over St Albans in the National League South.

The game was 4-0 on the hour mark, but three late goals from the home side made for some squeaky final few moments, but the points were secured.

There were 90 minutes in the bank for Will Buse for W*ymouth. They lost 1-0 to Enfield Town in the league. The Terras also safely negotiated their FA Cup 3rd Qualiyfing replay in midweek, Buse again, in the side.

Plymouth Parkway booked their spot in the next round of the FA Trophy with a 3-2 win over Banbury.

Corey Koerner came on shortly after half time.

Josh Haskett was on the bench for Sherborne for their clash against United Services Portsmouth FC.
Krystian Woods was on the bench for Street for their 1-1 draw against Buckland Athletic.

Yeovil Town were picking up a point at home to Aldershot Town whilst the loanees were out and about doing their thing.

To start with, no Weston-super-Mare of course, Dylan Morgan was back with the Glovers and back in the starting line-up following his recall on Saturday morning.

We’ll start at Salisbury then, where full-back Jordan Thomas played the full 90 minutes as his side were put out of the FA Cup in the dying moments at home to Bath City. The nicest math in football, Alex Fisher, got the winner deep into added time to seal a 2-1 win for the Romans.

Thomas was also booked in the game.

Plymouth Parkway are in the hat for Monday’s 4th Qualifying Round draw though after beating Sittingbourne 3-0. Young Glover Corey Koerner came off the bench for the final 20 minutes.

It was a result that means Parkway have made the FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round for the first time in their history.

Our ‘friends’ by the seaside W*ymouth are also still in the hat, but they’ll need a replay to get beyond Winchester City.

The Claret and Blue lot were 2-0 down before a couple of late goals mean they’ll do it all again on Tuesday, goalkeeper Will Buse was in the side.

Elsewhere, both Jacob Shore and Sol Padmore were both used from the bench for Street FC in the Western League Premier division.

The Cobblers were down to ten men for the majority of the game and ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 score line against Torpoint.

Under-18s’ striker Josh Haskett scored for Sherborne Reserves in a 2-1 win over Poole Borough.

Teams like Sturminster Newton, Cullompton Rangers and Oldland Abbotonians were all in action and all have young members of the Glovers’ youth system attached, but at time of writing, team sheets and information are hard to come by.

Another match day and plenty more good news from the plethora of Yeovil Town loanees out and about.

Firstly, to Weston-super-Mare where the Seagulls drew 1-1 at home to Dorking Wanderers in the National League South.

The Weston goal scored by none other than our man Dylan Morgan. You love to see it.

There was a Man of the Match performance from Will Buse at W*ymouth who took on Worthing at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The Terras also drew 1-1  and the Glovers’ on loan gloveman was the  sponsors’ pick of the bunch.

Defender Jordan Thomas clocked up 90 minutes for Salisbury in their 3-2 win over Chippenham Town.

Down at Plymouth Parkway, they were on the wrong end of a 9 (nine)-3 score line in their game at Hungerford Town in the Southern League Premier Division South.

Under-18s’ full-back Corey Koerner was used from the bench in the final five minutes.

Young goalkeeper Will Howard was between the posts for Cullompton Rangers were 2-1 up, but a man down at half-time, and eventually lost 4-2 to Stoke Gabriel and Torbay Police in the South West Peninsula League. Cullompton still sit top of the table, but have played more games than most of the division.

In the Wessex League Premier, Sherborne Town won 4-0 away at Whitchurch FC. Under-18s forward Josh Haskett was used from the bench.

Over at Street, they lost 2-0 at home to Brixham, with Jacob Shore and Krystian Woods both involved from the bench in the second half. The defeat means the Cobblers lost their unbeaten start to the Western League Premier season and slipped to second place on goal difference.

Plenty of these young Glovers will be in action for the Under-18s on Monday night at Huish Park. They start their Western Counties Floodlit League season against Brislington. Ticket details available – here.

Whilst the Glovers were drawing a blank at Huish Park on Saturday, plenty of our loanees were in action out and about.

Four of them were in the FA Cup, which renders them cup-tied for their parent club this season.

We’ll start with Will Buse who made his debut for W*ymouth.

That lot by the sea beat Sholing 4-1 to progress to the 3rd qualifying round, Buse played the full 90 and was in the thick of it in the early exchanges, making a couple of big saves at 0-0.

Next, to another seaside, Weston-super-Mare to be precise.

The Seagulls also booked their place in the next round by beating Wimborne Town 2-0.

Both goals came early on in the game and Dylan Morgan played the full game.

Another team in the hat are Salisbury who beat AFC Stoneham (remember them!?) 7-1.

Jordan Thomas played the full game and was involved in at least one of Ronan Silva’s four goals in the game.

Finally, there was a seven goal thriller down at Plymouth Parkway.

Parkway, with Corey Koerner in their starting line up, were on the right side of a 4-3 scoreline, despite being 2-1 down during the first half at home to Westbury.

This means that all four loanees are ineligible for Yeovil in this season’s FA Cup.

Right, elsewhere, Street went top of the Western League Premier with a 2-1 win over St Austell.

Jacob Shore and Krystian Woods were both used from bench whilst Sol Padmore was also in the squad.

Mason Alden was in the starting line up for Welton who had a day to forget. They lost 10-0 to Barnstaple.

Young ‘keeper Will Howard kept (another) cleano for Cullompton Rangers, they beat Axminster Town 3-0 to stay top (and unbeaten) in the South West Peninula League East.

Team sheets from Sherborne & Sturminster Newton are harder to come by, but we’ll edit as information drops.

The number of Yeovil Town players out on loan is getting bigger by the week, here’s how most of them got on.

Firstly, all National League South sides had a midweek game on Tuesday and that means Weston-super-Mare gave more minutes to both Will Buse and Dylan Morgan.

Their positive run continued with a 2-0 win over Slough Town last Tuesday night – including a second Seagulls’ goal for Morgan – and a 0-0 draw yesterday at St Albans City.

That seems to be Buse’s final game on loan in north Somerset after Seagulls’ boss Scott Bartlett said they could not agree an extension and signed keeper Max Harris on loan from Cheltenham Town. Harris was on the bench for Weston at St Albans yesterday.

Full-back Jordan Thomas (who was listed as “T. JORDAN on the Salisbury team graphic) made his debut for his new in a 3-1 defeat to Farnborough. The departure of Thomas, who joined the Glovers from Hampton & Richmond in the summer, was announced on Friday, just ahead of the arrival of Dom Bernard at Huish Park.

No Corey Koerner for Plymouth Parkway as he was on the bench for the Glovers’ first team at AFC Fylde (his loan is classed as a duel registration, so he can go back and forth).

There are a trio of young Glovers at Street, they were 2-0 down against Buckland, but as is the theme of the day, they didn’t lose either.

A 2-2 draw was secured, in part thanks to the additions of Jacob Shore, who is part of the first-team set-up at Huish Park these days, and Under-18s’ players Krystian Woods and Sol Padmore in the 2nd half.

Josh Haskett scored for Sherborne Town in midweek, they beat Christchurch in the league cup. Nice work, Josh. Neither he or fellow Under-18s player Joe Crisp featured in the Zebras’ 3-2 win at  Brockenhurst in the Wessex League yesterday.

Under-18s’ keeper Will Howard started for Cullompton Rangers in their 2-1 win at Middlezoy Rovers whilst fellow young Glovers Mason Alden was on the bench for Welton Rovers, as was Max Dyer for the Oldland Abbotonians.

We have plenty of Glovers out on loan at the moment including two at Weston-super-Mare, here’s how they all got on.

Goalkeeper Will Buse has been joined by midfielder  Dylan Morgan and both were in the starting line-up for Weston, they got the better of Hornchurch in a five-goal thriller, with Morgan on the scoresheet inside the first five minutes.

The former Taunton Town man also picked up the Man of the Match award as he started his three-month loan stint in some style.

That result backs up a 1-0 win over Maidstone on Bank Holiday Monday and ‘cleano’ for Buse on that occasion, the Seagulls have now won four in a row and sit in sixth  in the National League South Table.

Down at Plymouth Parkway, last Monday Corey Koerner made his first start in a 0-0 draw with Tiverton Town in the Southern League Premier Division South.

Onto Saturday’s action and Parkway were in the FA Cup, with a fairly comfortable win over Baffins Milton Rovers. Koerner came off the bench with 20 minutes to go.

With the Under 18s having a slightly different schedule this season (more on that to follow in the coming weeks) there are a number of youngsters looking to get some senior experience at a range of different local clubs – We can’t promise to keep tabs on them all, but if anything of note happens, we’ll do our best.

Will Howard, a young goalkeeper who has trained with the first-team and was named on the subs bench during pre-season, is playing for Cullompton Rangers, who have been on a decent run in the South West Peninsula League, which is the tenth tier.

Josh Haskett continues to get minutes for Sherborne – he and some of the Under-18s’ second year lads are getting game time in their first and reserve teams.

Central defender Jacob Shore has recovered from an injury sustained in first-team action in pre-season and is now playing with Street FC – he came off the bench for them on Saturday in a 2-1 win over Torpoint. Krystian Woods, who appeared for the first-team in pre-season, was a second half substitute whilst Sol Padmore was also on the bench for the Cobblers.

Midfielder Mason Alden is back at Welton Rovers here he spent time last season and started their 3-1 defeat at St Blazey yesterday, whilst Max Dyer is with the Oldland Abbotonians who beat 3-1 Shepton Mallet on Saturday in game where former Loan Watch regular, Charlie Bateson was sent-off and Benjani Jr was a substitute.

Nansimir Nanev was a second half substitute for Sturminster Newton United who won 3-0 at home to Hengrove Athletic.

If you’re going to a game with one of our local loanees are in action, let me know if they do anything of note.

Will Buse has back to back wins under his belt as Weston-super-Mare picked up six points across their Tuesday/Saturday double header.

In midweek, the Seagulls were 2-1 victors against Chesham away from home before picking up a very impressive 2-0 win over Chelmsford on Saturday.

Buse played the full 90 in both games and excelled in the Tuesday game in particular.

Down at Plymouth Parkway, they had a Saturday to forget losing 3-0 to Winchester City.

All three goals came early on in the first half before Parkway managed to stop the flow.

Corey Koerner was on the bench but was brought on with less than ten minutes left on the clock.

Sherborne we’re in FA Vase action, they drew 1-1 in 90 minutes with the Zebras progressing on penalties.

Josh Haskett was named amongst the subs but didn’t make the pitch, which is a shame

Sherborne head into the 2nd Round of the FA Vase.

Will Buse was in goal for Weston-super-Mare as they travelled to newly promoted Enfield Town in the National League South.

The Seagulls lost 1-0 to a single Sam Youngs goal from the penalty spot with 39 minutes on the clock, as you can see from the clip below, Buse nearly got a finger tip to the spot kick, but it was too well placed and too powerful

Meanwhile, down at Plymouth Parkway, Corey Koerner was a late sub for Parkway in their 1-1 draw with both Havant and Waterlooville.

Sherborne started (and finished) their FA Cup adventure with an away tie with Westfield FC. The home side winning 3-1.
Josh Haskett was named on the bench, he did make an appearance, coming on in the second half as the Zebras chased a goal to bring the tie level.

The return of a new season and therefore the return of Loan Watch.

Former Bristol City goalkeeper Will Buse joined Weston-super-Mare on the eve of the National League South season and his debut was an eventful one.

At half time, Weston were 3-0 up and cruising, but a 96th minute penalty from Worthing would break hearts and mean the away side took the three points.

Elsewhere, we do have one youngster out on loan in the form of Josh Haskett. He is with Sherborne Town (alongside Messrs Skiverton Jnr and Graziano who were once of this parish too) in the Wessex League Premier Division.

Josh has made a couple of appearances, both from the bench, including in the Zebras’ 2-0 defeat at Hamble Town on Saturday.

Josh Haskett

As you will discover in a later post, Under-18s’ full-back Corey Koerner was also an unused substitute on the bench for Plymouth Parkway.

The youngster has played a number of times for the first team in pre-season before joining the Southern League Premier Division South side. He watched on as they went down 3-1 at home to Basingstoke Town on the opening day.

The move was announced by Yeovil on Sunday afternoon.
