Yeovil Town have their first home match of pre-season tomorrow against Forest Green Rovers.

The match will see the Glovers don their brand new kit for the first time, with the match kicking off a 3pm.

The Club have informed us that the “tea bars will be open alongside the bar inside the ground, which anybody with a ticket can access.”

Yeovil Town are set to unveil their new kit for the forthcoming season next week according the club’s official website.

The ‘finishing touches’ are being added  before the launch, in what will be a momentous day for kit enthusiasts across South Somerset.

On Saturday the Glovers will be attempting to ‘Achieve By Unit’ in a template Hummel kit at Stratford.

Former Yeovil Town keeper Liam O’Brien wants to repay the faith Stratford Town chairman Jed/Ged/Gerard McCrory has shown in him since recovering from his injury nightmare.

The shot stopper joined Stratford in November last year, and speaking to the Stratford-upon-Avon Herald, O’Brien said how he had contemplated quitting football after the reoccurrence of an injury in the 3-0 win against Wrexham in February 2020.

He said: “Before joining Stratford Town I nearly gave up football completely. When I was at Yeovil I pulled the quad off my bone and it required an operation. I had the operation and it took around four-and-a-half months to get back fit. I started training again, played two games and then got the same injury again. So I needed another operation and then another four-and-a-half months to get back fit. By that time Covid-19 hit, I was out of contract and ready to give it all up. From going from almost retiring to getting the love for football back, I cannot wait to get going. That phone call from Jed gave me a massive lift and playing for Stratford Town is something I’m really looking forward to. Even if I had offers from elsewhere, the answer is no because I want to repay the faith Jed has shown in me.”

O’Brien will come up against Yeovil Town when the Glovers head to Stratford on the 24th of July for a preseason friendly.

Ex Yeovil Town forward Gold Omotayo has signed for National League side King’s Lynn Town after his time at Wrexham came to an end.

Omotayo was given the opportunity to earn a contract with TikTok’s newest partner but has instead signed a deal with the Norfolk side.

King’s Lynn director of football (what’s one of them?!) Rob Back told the club’s website: “It’s taken a few weeks to get this one over the line but we are really pleased Gold has decided to join us.”
