Those who visited the Rare Breeds Meat Company Stadium (catchy, eh?) previously, may recall you could only buy tickets on the gate and the entrance to the away end was a bit of a squeeze, so Braintree have introduced modern technology – a QR code – to make it a bit easier.

On the Braintree website (wear sunglasses if you look at it), they say: “In an effort to speed up entry into our stadium, the Club has introduced a new online ticket service. Supporters can now purchase their tickets for matches by clicking the ‘Tickets’ tab above and then ‘Buy your tickets here’ tab. Following payment, supporters will then be sent a QR code that provides entry at the appropriate online entry turnstile.” Amazing what they can do with technology these says, eh?

Braintree have confirmed the match will be segregated and away supporters will enter via Gates 7 & 8.  But they’ve also said that, as well as the Clubhouse, the Away Fan Zone will be open from 1pm, with a selection of lagers and ales on sale from the Quag End Arms behind the goal. Sindy’s Hot Food outlet will also be open next to the bar.

Yeovil Town have announced that Welsh winger, Lewys Twamley has left Huish Park.

The former Merthyr Town man leaves the Glovers nearly a year early having signed an 18-month deal in the middle of last season.

Twamley had been a part of pre-season games and was originally given the number 7 shirt ahead of the new season, but now leaves on the eve of the season.

Lewys played just nine times for the Glovers.

All the best, Lewys.

Following a question on the latest edition of the Gloverscast, from Dexter Tyson, suggesting that we should set up a Gloverscast Fantasy Premier League, our man Chris Fox has done just that.

If you’re a regular player you’ll already know how it works, simply sign up, select your team and join our mini league.

It’s free to do, and you can take it as seriously (or not) as you like.

To enter our league, click the link below.

Or if you’re already logged in and prefer to use the code 2W5D4E to enter that works to!

Can anyone come up with a better YTFC-linked defence than this?

With back to back home games in the books for the Glovers this pre-season, Ben and Dave are joined by Chris Fox and FGCQCRobManley to chat about Cardiff, Bristol Rovers and how much of a blummin’ good bloke Marcus Stewart is.

We take your GCQs and we check in with our newly appointed Chief Scout Luca Manley too.

Yeovil Town hosted the ‘Match for Marcus’ dedicated to Marcus Stewart and his career with both Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers and his subsequent battle with Motor Neurone Disease.

Our man Gary Brown was at Huish Park for us today and captured the event.

Yeovil Town have been given an away tie against Odd Down FC in the first round of the Somerset Men’s Premier Cup.

The game will be played at some point in October, with an exact date to be confirmed in due course.

The Glovers faced Odd Down at the Semi Final stage of the 2021/22 competition, securing a place in the final for interim manager Charlie Lee with a 5-0 win, a brace for Josh Neufville in amongst the scorers.

Last season, Yeovil were eliminated by a strong Weston-super-Mare side in the 2nd Round after receiving a bye in the first round.

The competition has been renamed for this coming season in memory of former County FA President Francis Hillier.

The final, is already scheduled to take place at Twerton Park on April 15th 2026.

Yeovil Town have confirmed their squad numbers ahead of the upcoming season.

The main headlines are that James Daly takes the 11, previously worn by Jacob Maddox and Harvey Greenalade switches from 27 to 21.

The 21 was vacated by Caleb Hughes at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Maddox, despite being a contracted member of the squad, has not been issued with a number this year as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.

New signings Kyle Ferguson keeps the 26 he wore on loan last season with Tahvon Campbell opting for 29 having previously worn 16 and 19 in his previous loan spells a decade ago.

There’s nobody to take the number 2, 8 or 10 shirts (yet!)

4 – Morgan Williams
5 – Finn Cousin-Dawson

Yeovil Town came from behind to beat Sherborne Town in their second pre-season friendly on Wednesday.

Goals from defenders Morgan Williams and Jake Wannell in the second half helped the Glovers turn a 1-0 deficit into a second win of the campaign against the Wessex League Premier Division side, who play four tiers below them in the football pyramid.

Much like the opening game against Exmouth Town four days earlier, manager Mark Cooper made plenty of changes across the two halves of the game, with trialists and members of the youth team used throughout.

The defensive quintet of goalkeeper Matt Gould, Lewys Twamley, Finn Cousin Dawson, Kyle Ferguson and Corey Koerner started the first half, alongside youngster Ollie Hughes.

It was all square at 0-0 at Raleigh Grove despite multiple chances falling the way of striker Harvey Greenslade among others.

Three first half trialists were all recognisable from the weekend with midfielder Teo Kurtaran and strikers Kieran Edworthy and Abu Kanu all getting a go from the start. Read more about the background of the trialists – here.

Former Swindon Town academy striker Abu Kanu was among the trialists who featured in the first half. Picture courtesy of Rob Manley.

At the break, only Greenslade and Josh Sims remained on the pitch, nine other changes were made, including the introduction of former Bristol Rovers’ midfielder Luke McCormick representing the trialist family also.

There was no place in the squad for the scorer of the winner against Exmouth, Tahvon Campbell, or Jevani Brown who had been spotted as part of ‘trialist watch’ whilst midfielder Jacob Maddox remains absent of the contracted cohorts.

It was the hosts, that actually took the lead on 53 minutes before Morgan Williams got on the end of a Brett McGavin corner just after the hour.

In the final ten minutes it was some nice link up play between Charlie Cooper and Jake Wannell which saw the skipper finish off the comeback to join his central defensive partner on the score sheet.

The Glovers will now head to Hardenhuish Park, the home of Chippenham Town on Saturday, 2pm kick-off.

First half – Yeovil Town: Matt Gould, Lewys Twamley, Finn Cousin-Dawson, Kyle Fergsuon, Corey Koerner, Josh Sims, Teo Kuratan (Trialist), Ollie Hughes, Kieran Edworthy (Trialist), Abu Kanu (Trialist), Harvey Greenslade.

Second half – Yeovil Town: Aidan Stone, Alex Whittle, Morgan Williams, Jake Wannell, Josh Sims, Brett McGavin, Charlie Cooper, James Daly, Luke McCormick (Trialist), Aaron Jarvis, Harvey Greenslade.
