It’s two wins on the bounce for Yeovil now, and once again in chaotic fashion, as they staged two late comebacks to win a classic encounter between themselves and AFC Fylde today. Let’s see if any of the other National League teams can match that! (spoilers, they can’t!)
We begin in Greater Manchester, where Altrincham condemned Ebbsfleet United to another heavy defeat in a 4-0 drubbing at home. Two goals within a minute of each other within the first 10 minutes dictated the state of the game on another worrying afternoon for the visiting side. Last week’s hosts Boston United bounced back with an emphatic 3-0 win away at Sutton United, Jacob Hazel grabbing a double for the Pilgrims, while another top of the table clash went in Gateshead’s favour as they defeated a visiting Barnet side 2-0.
In the evening kickoff, Aldershot Town’s inconsistent start to the season continued as another great Rochdale performance meant the visitors left as 2-0 winners. The final 2-0 result of the afternoon was in York City’s favour, as they defeated Wealdstone on their travels.
There were two 1-1 draws today, as Oldham Athletic recovered for a point against Southend United, while Maidenhead United dropped points at home against Dagenham & Redbridge. Early frontrunners Eastleigh bounced back from their defeat at Gateshead last weekend with a 1-0 win over Tamworth, while Forest Green Rovers defeated Solihull Moors by the same scoreline.
Finally, there were two 0-0 draws, as Hartlepool United and FC Halifax Town, and Braintree Town and Woking all shared a point each.
