Tom Bailey is back with transfer round up of the National League, including Glovers corner…

Glovers’ Corner

Before we dive into the National League ins and outs, let’s look at the former Glovers that have moved about in the last couple of weeks. We may miss a few, so if any of you see any we may have missed, tag us on Facebook or Twitter (or X), or leave a comment below and we’ll add them in the next week’s round-up!

Quite a few ex-Glovers on the move this week, with a couple from last season’s squad involved. Zac Bell has joined fellow National League side Maidenhead United following his release from Bristol City, while another right back from last season, Brooklyn Genisi… yep, think that’s how it’s spelled… has joined W*ymouth following his release from Swindon Town. Best of luck to both Bell and Genisi… yep, still think that’s it.

A few more moves from up and down the football pyramid, as Jordan Dyer moves further south, joining Jay Foulston at Torquay United following a couple of seasons under Jerry Gill at Bath City. Craig Eastmond and Omar Sowunmi have both left Sutton United, with Eastmond joining Wealdstone in the National League, and Sowunmi returning to his former employers, and now EFL side Bromley.

Charlie Bateson has joined Shepton Mallet on a permanent basis following his loan spell with the side last season, while an older head has moved too, as Luke Wilkinson has joined National League South outfit Salisbury, following his departure from Woking.

A much more obscure name moves among the EFL, as Callum Morton, who I’ve been reliably informed by our very own Ben Barrett, featured in our academy a few years ago, has moved from Salford City to Northampton Town on a loan deal. Finally, a name more familiar to recent Yeovil years is Jordan Barnett, who has tumbled down the pyramid in recent seasons. He leaves Shaftesbury, and joins Abbey Hey, who recently won promotion from the North West Counties League Division One South… Step 10 in English football.

A man who hasn’t got a new club, but has been seen out and about, is Asmir Begovic, the experienced ‘keeper was spotted in training with Aldershot Town this week keeping fit for the season ahead.

Former Yeovil loanee Diallang Jaiyesimi has moved from Charlton Athletic to Leyton Orient for an undisclosed fee.

On an unrelated topic you need to adjust your Oldham Athletic ins, as you’re only showing one incoming at the moment.
