Tom Bailey is back with transfer round up of the National League, including Glovers corner…
Glovers’ Corner
Before we dive into the National League ins and outs, let’s look at the former Glovers that have moved about in the last couple of weeks. We may miss a few, so if any of you see any we may have missed, tag us on Facebook or Twitter (or X), or leave a comment below and we’ll add them in the next week’s round-up!
Well, after a quiet week last week, there have been a bunch of former Glovers on the move this week! Two players that were members of that unfortunate season in 2022/23 have made new homes, with Jamie Andrews and Miguel Freckleton (seriously, they played for the club in the same season) joining Woking from West Brom, and Swindon from Sheffield United respectively. One more member of that side has a new club too, as Louis Britton signed for Bristol Manor Farm from Maldon & Tiptree.
Two former Welshmen have found a new club together as well, as both Daniel Alfei and Shaun MacDonald have joined Trefelin in the Cyrmu South, Alfei returning to football after a couple years out of the sport, and MacDonald signing from Penybont. Steven Caulker is on the move as well, the Sierra Leone international (and long-time target for GloverPast, invitation is always there for you Steven if you’re reading!) joins Ankara Keçiörengücü from fifth-tier Spanish side Málaga City.
Finally, Omari Patrick returned to the EFL following relegation with Sutton United, as he signed for Tranmere Rovers this week.
Craig Alcock was announced this week at Thame United, after a stint with Harlow Town, and on the Friday I write this, Mark Beck has joined Gateshead, following his spell with Solihull Moors.
