Midfielder Brett McGavin has become the second new arrival at Yeovil Town following his release by Torquay United.
The 24-year-old, who began his career at Ipswich Town before joining the Gulls in 2022, has signed a two-year contract at Huish Park following the signing of striker Harvey Greenslade last week.
He announced his departure from Plainmoor on his social media last month, but was confirmed as departing when Torquay published their released and retained list this week.
Speaking to the club’s YouTube channel, he said: “I had a phone call from the Gaffer (manager Mark Cooper) early and I was pretty interested straight away.
“I have played here a few times and I felt it was the right move for me with the style of play, so it was quite an easy sell.
“I am excited to get going. I spoke to Frank (Nouble), who was at Torquay with me, and he said it would be a good move for me and I agree with him, so I am really excited to get going.
”I know I am joining champions from last year and obviously a good side, so I am excited to see what I can add to this team and hopefully bring success.
”Even looking at the stadium now I can picture myself scoring a few goals, but not just goals, I want to work hard for this team and show my qualities.
”I feel I can bring something to this team and I hope all the supporters enjoy the new season.”
Excited to be here, can’t wait to get started🙌🏼💚 https://t.co/OjaUucUBKQ

Having started out at Ipswich, McGavin had loan spells at Ayr United and then King’s Lynn Town, where he made his debut against the Glovers at the start of the 2021-22 season.
Following his release from Portman Road, he arrived in Devon and became a regular in the side which was relegated out of the National League Premier in the 2022-23 season, and played 21 times for the Gulls in a National League South season beset by off-the-field issues last seven.
He has carved out a reputation for spectacular goals including the consolation strike he scored in Yeovil’s 3-1 victory at Plainmoor last November.
