David Rock will be the man in the middle when Yeovil Town head to Sutton United this coming Tuesday night.
It is Mr Rock’s first game refereeing in the National League this season, but by no means has he been twiddling his card loving thumbs, he’s taken charge of eight games so far, across the EFL Leagues and Cups.
Those first eight games have seen him brandish 36 yellows (that’s over 4 per game on average!) and a red one for good measure.
As for the Glovers, specifically, we’ve seen him three times, twice in the FA Cup including when he sent off Kevin Dawson (below), but most recently in the 1-0 defeat to Hartlepool on the opening day of last season, the one where we got “Darren Sarll’d”.
He booked five Poolies and two Glovers; Greenslade and Wannell and after the game, then Manager Mark Cooper said that Tom Parkes should have been sent off, for his seventh minute caution;
“That was a horrendous tackle…If it had been 15 minutes later in the game, it would have been a straight red.”
Having watched it back on HP Source, it’s certainly not a nice one… Jordan Young’s knee feels the full force.
Anyway, Mr Rock will be assisted by David Hutton and Alexander Shipp with Ayrton Hursey on 4th official duties.
