A Huish Park regular returning to take centre stage on Saturday as we welcome Elliott Swallow to the ground as our match day referee.

Swallow has officiated the Glovers 12 times in his career – in fact, only Wealdstone and Woking (both 13) – have seen him more often than the Glovers.

Most recently, during the home game against Braintree in the 24/25 season, you know the one where Brett McGavin latched on to a through ball from Dylan Morgan and wrapped the game up late on, the 3-1 win, that one? Yeah, you remember.

Four Yeovil players got booked that day, McGavin himself, Morgan Williams, Ed James and Michael Smith.

Here’s an odd quirk, he’s given us two penalties – but one of them kind of didn’t happen.

He awarded us a spot kick away at King’s Lynn – despatched by Dale Gorman, but Joe Quigley missed one in a game against Dover during the behind-closed-doors season which would go on to be stricken from the records when Dover’s results were expunged.

He also took charge of memorable wins over Bath City and Torquay in the National League South.

Overall, 12 Glovers games have seen five wins, four draws and three defeats.

This season, he’s taken charge of 18 games across a range of competitions, dishing out 76 yellows, three reds and four penalties awarded.
