The funeral of Yeovil Town fan ‘Huish Hugh’ Gleave will be held at Hemel Hempstead Crematorium on Thursday 15th August.
His daughters, Kate and Helen, have said the service will begin at 12.30pm. Dress code for is whatever you feel comfortable wearing – but football shirts are allowable.
The address is: Hemel Hempstead Crematorium, Bedmond Rd, Hemel Hempstead HP3 8LL
If you’re not able to make the service in person, it will be service will be live-streamed – HERE. You will need to enter the passcode: 691-8466
There will be a wake to remember Hugh – undoubtedly with a real ale (providing you’re legal to do so!) – which will be held at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, 16 Abbey Mill Ln, St Albans AL3 4HE from 2pm. To quote Hugh’s own review of the pub it is “not the oldest pub in England, or even in St Albans, whatever the Guinness Book of Records might claim.” But hopefully it can be the venue to for a decent knees-up in his memory.
If you wish to send flowers, they are kindly welcomed by the family and can be sent to Kerr Family Funeral at 12 Fernville Lane, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4AL.
If you would like to make a charitable donation in Hugh’s memory, his family has selected two groups they feel he would have wanted you to support:
- Adam Stansfield Foundation – donate here.
- Gloverscast – donate here.
On behalf of us at Gloverscast, we feel Adam Stansfield was a far better player than any of the 3 Plebs, but we’ll let you make up your own minds.
