Teenage defender Ed James has bolstered Yeovil Town’s depleted defensive ranks ahead of tonight’s visit from high-flying Barnet to Huish Park.

The 19-year-old, who had spells on loan at Weston-super-Mare in National League South and Southern League Premier Division South side Dorchester Town, has joined on loan from League One Exeter City until January.

He has made three appearances for the Grecians in the EFL Trophy – sponsored by Vertu or Bristol Street Motors, as you prefer – this season. He made his League One debut for the club coming off the bench in a 4-2 home defeat to Oxford United in October 2022.

The Glovers are without the suspended Jake Wannell, Finn Cousin-Dawson and Dom Bernard for tonight’s National League Premier fixture, following red cards in the 4-0 defeat at York City last weekend and the 1-0 home loss to FC Halifax Town seven days earlier.

Welcome to Somerset, Ed! The rest of you, leave your boots at home for tonight!
