A key roundabout between Yeovil and W*ymouth is closed ahead of the FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay down by the seaside tonight (Tuesday, October 19).

The Monkeys Jump Roundabout outside Dorchester and Poundbury is shut for resurfacing from 8pm last night (Monday) until 6am tomorrow (Wednesday) for resurfacing.

This means the A37 Dorchester Bypass is shut between the Weirs Roundabout and the Monkeys Jump Roundabout, so people travelling from Yeovil will need to go through Dorchester.

W*ymouth have taken tickets off sale for away supporters for tonight’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay with Yeovil Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

As of Tuesday morning, tickets were no longer on sale on the website after they confirmed that standing tickets had sold out on Monday night.

If you are still keen to get a ticket, our advice would be to give the ticket office a call on: 01305 785558

For all these reasons would strongly recommend buying on-line via the link below:

It started with one supporter inspired by the off-the-field turmoil surrounding the takeover of Yeovil Town  to post his feelings about what the club meant to him.

That with the addition of a hashtag – #YTFCMeansToMe – quickly spread across social media with supporters posting what the club meant to them.

Here are a selection of just a few of the posts, starting with the first one from Glovers’ fan Eliott Watts…..

Three youth sides representing the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust are in Junior Premier League action this weekend.

The under-11s, under-13s and under-15s sides all have fixtures with the under-12s, under-14s and under-16s sides all sit out this weekend.

Yeovil Town Under-18s are also without a fixture and have instead arranged a friendly against AFC Bournemouth Academy.

The young Glovers are presently fourth in the South West Counties Under-18s League after five matches.

Winger Dion Pereira has temporarily returned to his parent club Luton Town having picked up “a slight injury“, according to Hatters’ boss and former Glovers’ defender Nathan Jones.

There is some confusion around the exact reason behind his absence from the 1-1 draw with Altrincham as Yeovil boss Darren Sarll said the player was “massively fatigued” after playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-0 defeat to Notts County last weekend.

Either way, it seems unlikely the 22-year-old will be available for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie with W*ymouth at Huish Park

Talking to LutonToday, Jones said: “He’s picked up a slight injury so he has returned, but it is a club we trust because it’s a means to an end really.

“Dion had two weeks of international games so he would have played in the development squad but we’ve snt him to a good club where we know the work is good, the people are good.

“Without being disrespectful, once you go to Yeovil, it is not like you’re sending a player into London with the bright lights to distract them but they go to Yeovil to play football.

“They go down there, they stay down there and they become part of it and that is what we wanted for Dion.

“As it is, he’s picked up a slight injury so we have him back for treatment but it is a good club, a club we trust and we have no problems sending people there.

Speaking to the media ahead of the W*ymouth tie, Sarll said of Pereira: “Dion was not injured, he reported before the game that he was massively fatigued from the Saturday, so I don’t think he’ll be involved for Weymouth because he’s gone back to Luton for treatment.”

Benjani Junior and Finlay Skiverton were both on target as Yeovil Town Under-18s picked up a 2-1 win over South West Counties Youth League leaders Mangotsfield United on Saturday.

The pair put the Glovers 2-0 up at the Alvington Playing Fields before the visitors scored a late consolation goal.

The victory means the young Glovers have won four and lost two of their opening six matches.

Loan signing Dion Pereira is thrown straight in to the line-up as Yeovil Town manager rings the changes for today’s fixture with Notts County at Huish Park.

The boss has benched Charlie Wakefield, Mitchell Rose and Ben Seymour who all started the midweek goalless draw against Maidenhead United in favour of Matt WorthingtonSonny Blu Lo-Everton and Pereira, who joined from Luton Town in the week.

Jordan Barnett remains on the substitutes’ bench alongside striker Adi Yussuf who returns after a one-match ban for his sending off at Boreham Wood.

For the visitors, former Torquay United man Kyle Cameron returns after injury in place of former Glovers’ defender Alex Lacey who drops to the bench.

No sign of assistant manager Michael Doyle who has been rumoured to return to playing after the Magpies threw away leads in their past two matches.

Yeovil Town: Smith, Moss, Staunton, Hunt, Robinson, Worthington, Gorman, Pereira, Knowles, Lo-Everton, Quigley. Subs: Barnett, Rose, Wakefield, Seymour, Yussuf.

Notts County: Patterson, Chicksen, Cameron, Brennan, Brindley, O’Brien, Palmer, Roberts, Rodrigues, Nemane, Wootton. Subs: Kelly-Evans, Francis, Vincent, Mitchell, Sanm.

Yeovil Town Under-18s’ hopes of FA Youth Cup success ended with a 3-1 defeat at Cheltenham Saracens in the second qualifying round on Thursday night.

The home side went ahead through a 12th minute penalty before Daniel Onakoya doubled the advantage three minutes after the break.

Midfielder Ollie Haste pulled a goal back for Yeovil four minutes later when his free-kick was deflected on, before Cheltenham added a third in the final minute.

The home side’s under-18s, who play in the Gloucestershire Floodlit League, will travel to either Poole Town or Gosport B in the next round.

Yeovil Town Under-18s: Smalley, Deemer, Haste, Borges, Lye, Alden, Stephens, Benjani Junior, McAlastair, Andrews, Graziano. Subs: Hollard, Hunter, Sutton, Dyer, A.Skiverton, Hodges, John.

Defender Mark Little has been backed by manager Darren Sarll to be return from his injury sooner than the end of the year.

The right-back was the big name signing of the summer following his release by Bristol Rovers and picked up an injury in the pre-season friendly defeat to Forest Green Rovers at the end of July.

After that, the manager said he did not expect to see the former Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers player until at Christmas at the earliest.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s trip to Boreham Wood, Sarll said: “Mark has one more consultation with his surgeon which might be today and then hopefully that will determine his progress from now.

“But once he is out of that boot and weight bearing again, he will fly, the man is a consummate professional with incredible standards.

“He is very different to a lot of other senior players I have worked with because he still sees so much in front of him, so much more to achieve.

“You can get senior players that hold on and hold on, but Mark never sees it like that, he is a real driving force.

I think once Mark gets his foot down, he will probably exceed timescales (for his recovery).

The manager suggested that Little’s recovery meant he was not yet back involved with the squad, but spoke about striker Reuben Reid‘s role in supporting the squad and his coaching team.

Reid is also expected to be out until the end of the year after picking up a hamstring injury in pre-season.

Sarll said: “Reuben is one of the most charismatic, influential people that I have worked with and has a huge impact on how people feel and think, even to the coaching staff.

“The first thing Reuben said to me after the game was ‘that is not a weekend ruiner’ and I thought that is a different way of looking at it, so we try and use what we have at our disposal.”

The boss added that the club’s supporters can also play an important role in helping his young squad through the campaign.

The squad has an average age of just 24.3 years, including the likes of injury victims Little, Reid and Luke Wilkinson, whilst their opponents on Saturday have the oldest squad in the division with an average age of 30.2 years.

Sarll said: “It is an important role that supporters play for us because if (the young players in the squad) get a sense of negativity in the ground, that is not going to help us this year.

“They are not Rhys Murphy who would just stick his fingers up and carry on playing, they have not seen that yet, so the role of supporters is huge.

“If I got any of those new, young players in and said what has been your best experience, they would undoubtedly say either Aldershot away or Stockport away.

“Because of the connection with the supporters and the love and affection they felt from that will stay with them, and they will thrive of those moments.”
