Yeovil Town defender/midfielder (or quite frankly whatever/wherever you need him to be), Finn Cousin-Dawson says that the key to maintaining the recent success is to take things one step at a time.

Speaking to BBC Radio Somerset’s Jack Killah he said the team is feeling good following a busy spell;

“Obviously it’s really tough week or so with three games in I don’t know how many days, but yeah, recovered well. So, yeah, feeling good.”

“I think [the manager change] brought us really together as a group and I think you can see that in the results and the way we’re playing. You know, we’re  fighting for each other, we’re running for each other and yeah, morale’s been good.
I just think work rate. I think if you go in every game working as hard as you can, working hard in the team, then you give yourself a good chance to win a game, and with the quality we’ve got in  the the forwards of the team, then we’re always going to score goals.

[It has] just given the front lads a bit of freedom. I think, not that there wasn’t before. I think we’ve kind of I think we’ve just maybe clicked a bit more.”

With Boreham Wood visiting on Saturday, FC-D said that it’s important that Huish Park is loud to make it a tough place for any side to visit.

“They’ve obviously come up and uh done well this year, but it’s like every other team in this league. There’s no easy game. Nobody’s going to let you have three points. So it’s just like every other game going with a mindset of we’re going to win the game.

I think when the when the crowd come and they’re loud, then it’s a really hard place to come for away team.

Yeah, definitely. But for me, it’s just we just got to look at Saturday, you know, look at the next game, try to win that. If not, you go again the week after. But you just got to take it game by game.”

On his own role in the side, he said that adapting to midfield responsibilities hasn’t been easy, but that so long as he’s in the side, he’ll give everything for the cause.

“I just enjoy playing, probably more comfortable as a centre half, you know, I’m still learning obviously, I’m learning on a job in midfield, but wherever I’m asked to play, I’m going to give 100%. So, it doesn’t change that.
[I’ve played in midfield] maybe a couple times, maybe two, three times. Yeah, that’s it. Obviously started last season um just kind of in there to break a lot of play up and try to keep it simple.
Obviously this year being a bit in and out, probably found it a bit harder at the start, but no, I enjoy both. 

I’d probably say we’re all quite different in a way. Obviously Macca, Brett, Coops, whoever’s been in there, all really good players, so yeah, it’s good. It’s good healthy competition. So I think whoever’s in there have done a good job this season and we’re all working hard for each other. “

Andrew Oluwabori has been named your Gloverscast Player of the Month for September.

Despite only being in the voting from the Tamworth game, he picked up eight points and two individual Man of the Match awards (vs Aldershot and Altrincham)

Which means, despite being on the same number of points as Jed Ward, he gets the nod on MOTM Countback.

As a reminder, All MOTM winners are awarded 3 points towards a monthly total, second gets two, third gets one with any ties settled by the number of individual first places they get.

Ward, who won the August title finishes second with eight points and one MOTM, whilst Josh Sims finishes third despite he and Luke McCormick getting seven points each – Sims was MOTM twice. 

Josh Sims has been declared the Gloverscast Man of the Match vote winner for the 2-1 win away at Sutton United in midweek.

The former Southampton man picked up a whopping 74% of the vote, by some distance the largest majority a MOTM has claimed this season.

Andrew Oluwabori was 2nd, Jed Ward was 3rd.

Andrew Oluwabori has been named in the National League team of the midweek after his match defining performance against Sutton on Tuesday.

His opening goal gave the Glovers a first half advantage and the first step towards a third straight win.

Yeovil Town’s Interim Manager Richard Dryden has been nominated for the league’s September Manager of the Month award.

It’s worth noting that he was also in charge for the 1-0 away win at Solihull Moors also and that performance deserves a nod of appreciation.

Dryden has been nominated along side Robert Savage (FGR) Luke Garrard (Boreham Wood) and Jimmy McNulty (Rochdale).

It is our opinion that the National League should take into consideration the context that has surrounded the club and award the final trophy to Richard Dryden.

Not many teams keep Altrincham at bay this season, but the Glovers did.

A single Morgan Williams goal was all that separated the two sides at Huish Park and for the second game in a row, Andrew Oluwabori was declared the Gloverscast Man of the Match.
