A duo of Glovers have been named in the Non League Paper’s Team of the Day after the 1-0 home win over Solihull Moors on Saturday.

Goal scorer Chiori Johnson makes the cut after his first Glovers goal as does returning defender Ben Richards-Everton who, alongside his defensive comrades, picked up a “cleano”. (his words, not ours)

Nice work, lads!

Goalscoring Skipper Josh Staunton has been named in the Non League Paper’s team of the day following the Glovers’ 2-2 draw with Chesterfield on Saturday.

He’s been named in a midfield three rather than as part of the back line, but I’m sure Mr Versatile won’t mind.

Congratulations, Josh

Yes, we’re going to be making Pond/Fish/ based puns whenever we can, we’re not going to apologise for it either.

Yeovil Town’s on loan defender Alfie Pond has been named in the Non-League Paper’s team of the day after his impressive debut performance helped secure a 1-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Pond joins Wealdstone’s Jack Cook – who he’ll likely face on Monday – and Callum Howe of Solihull in the mythical back line.

The gaffer, Chris Hargreaves also makes the ‘Top Boss’ spot his own after picking up his first competitive victory as Glovers’ boss.

Well done to Alfie and Chris!

In what will be a shock to absolutely nobody, Malachi Linton made this week’s Non League Paper’s ‘team of the day’ following his wonderstrike earned the Glovers a 1-1 with Wrexham.

Linton joins three ex-YTFC names on the list with Tristan Abrahams and Rohan Ince both in the mythical side managed by Darren Sarll.

Non League Paper Team Of The Day

Safe to say we’ll be watching the strike on repeat once the highlights are out, what a way to get off the mark in Green and White.

Yeovil Town midfielder Tom Knowles has been given a place in the Non-League Paper’s team of the day following his goal against Wealdstone on Saturday.

The Glovers recorded a 2-0 win against the strugglers with Knowles scoring the opener in the first half. Joe Quigley doubled the lead with his 11th goal of the season on 23 minutes.

Other notable inclusions include former Glovers striker Paddy Madden after the Irishman scored the only goal in Stockport’s win over Halifax as well as the Halifax ‘keeper Sam Johnson who Yeovil will come up against on Bank Holiday Monday.
