Former Yeovil Town ‘keeper Stuart Nelson is on trial at Bristol Rovers

The former Glovers’ Gloveman left Crawley Town at the end of the 2020/21 season and has been drafted in by Joey Barton as part of pre-season preparations.

Nelson, 39, played 45 minutes for Rovers in a friendly against Melksham Town and will be looking to earn a deal with Barton’s League Two side.

The former Brentford and Gillingham stopper played 40 times for Yeovil between February 2018 and 2020.

Former Yeovil Town Goalkeeper Stuart Nelson is on the hunt for a new club after Crawley Town opted not to enter negotations on a new contract.

Nelson, who will turn 40 in September, played at Huish Park for two seasons with his final game being the defeat to Barnet in the National League Play-Offs last season.

All the best to Stuart as he looks for his next club – with over 500 professional games on his CV, he shouldn’t short of options.
