Ollie Hulbert

There can’t be many loan watch articles left this season as campaigns draw to a close, but it was a sad day for a couple of our loanee as their adopted side dropped out of the regional National League divisions.

First, we start in the National League itself;

Ben Richards-Everton wasn’t involved for Scunthorpe as they lost to Southend, Charlie Wakefield came off the bench for Woking as they cemented a top four spot by beating Gateshead,

National League North now and Leamington went down 5-1 to AFC Fylde to confirm their relegation from the NLN, Ollie Hulbert played an hour.

In the National League South, Max Evans was between the sticks for Hungerford as they drew 1-1 with Dulwich Hamlet, a point wasn’t enough however, they will not be an opponent for the Glovers next season.

Truro started Ollie Haste as they finalised their regular season with a win over North Leigh, however he was taken off just before half time, it remains to be seen if he is fit for their Play Off game against Poole on Wednesday evening.

Benjani Jr and Mason Hunter both started for Sherborne, but they fell 3-0 to Falmouth Town.

Jake Graziano and Toby Stephens weren’t in action for Dorchester and Plymouth Parkway respectively and their seasons drew to a close, whilst Charlie Bateson and Sam Hodges were back with the Under 18s.

Finally, Rob Hollard was in goal for Wincanton Town, they may have lost 5-0 to Oldland Abbotonians but the Wasps’ social media was full of praise for the young keeper, who very nearly saved a penalty and kept the score respectable at times.

A bad day for the Glovers in green and white… what about those who play in a whole range of different colours?

In the National League, Ben Richards-Everton was an unused sub as Scunthorpe saw their relegation to the National League North confirmed.

Charlie Wakefield wasn’t in the Woking side who confirmed their place in the National League play-offs.

In the NLN, Leamington suffered a 3-0 defeat in something of a six-pointer against Kettering, Ollie Hulbert played the full 90.

Truro lost the battle of the Bolitho against Plymouth Parkway as the two ground sharers went head to head, Ollie Haste was an unused sub for Truro, still no Toby Stephens for Parkway either.

Hungerford drew 1-1 in their game with Havant and Waterlooville in the NLS, Max Evans was in goal for the home side.

Dorchester went down 6-1 against Poole Town, Jake Graziano wasn’t in the squad.

Gillingham Town drew 1-1 with Warminster, Sam Hodges played the full 90 minutes and was awarded MOTM (hat tip to Lee Hodges on twitter for the update), the Gills have been really pleased with Hodges overall, an update sent to the Gloverscast says, “Sam has started our last six matches in centre midfield. Playing will, industrious, hard working and retains possession well.”

Thanks to Gillingham Town for the update!

Tiverton were in action away to Weston Super-Mare, but no sign of Charlie Bateson on the team sheet.

So, yeah, lots of players not playing for their loan clubs… cracking.

The Glovers picked up a point in the National League, but there were plenty of other Glovers out and about picking up wins, goals… and there was even a late-in-the-season debut for our young Keeper, Max Evans.

Let’s start in the National League, Charlie Wakefield wasn’t in the Woking side that came from behind to beat Dorking – another former Glover, Rohan Ince scoring twice.

Ben Richards-Everton played the full 90 for Scunthorpe who lost away at Gateshead.

Into the divisions below, Ollie Hulbert scored for Leamington, his opener helped lead his side to a big win over Hereford.

Jake Graziano – fresh off the back of being named Toolstation Premier Fan’s Player of the Month for March – was back in action for Dorchester, but they succumbed 2-0 to Chesham Utd.

Ollie Haste was used from the bench as Truro came from behind to beat Harrow Borough 4-1, Sam Hodges was back in the starting line up for Gillingham Town, but they went down 2-1 against Wincanton.

Finally, goalkeeper Max Evans made his debut for Hungerford Town in the National League South, but couldn’t prevent a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hampton and Richmond, with one of the goals coming from former Yeovil midfielder, Jake Gray.

Both Plymouth Parkway and Tiverton play on Saturday, rather than Friday.

Look, we are all a bit miffed after the Southend game, let’s just rattle through this weekend’s loan watch.

Ben Richards-Everton played the full 90 minutes and was booked as Scunthorpe lost 1-0 in their relegation six pointer against Torquay in the National League.

Ollie Hulbert started and completed an hour for Leamington who lost 2-0 to Alfreton.

Benjani Jr was in the starting line up for Sherborne who lost 3-0 against Clevedon Town.

Jake Graziano was an unused sub for Dorchester in their 2-2 with Salisbury.

Ollie Haste was an unused sub for Truro who lost 3-2 away at Beaconsfield

Plymouth Parkway, Gillingham Town and Tiverton Town all had their games called off with waterlogged pitches – Sam Hodges and Charlie Bateson were in action for the Glovers’ Under 18s instead.

Woking didn’t play, so a free weekend for Charlie Wakefield.

That’s yer lot, rubbish Saturday all round, really…

Whilst the scenes at Huish Park didn’t give Glovers fans much to get excited about, could any of the on loan cohort make things any better, let’s find out.

In the National League, Woking came from behind to beat bottom side Maidstone United with an injury time winner, Charlie Wakefield came on in the 82nd minute.

Scunthorpe were on the wrong end of a 4-0 thrashing from Notts County, defender Ben Richards-Everton credited with an 11th minute own goal.

All in all, two good results for Yeovil.

In to the lower leagues, Oxford City took a point from their clash with Dulwich Hamlet, Will Dawes was introduced as a 74th minute substitute.

Leamington lost 2-0 in front of a bumper crowd as Boston United were in town, Ollie Hulbert started, but was taken off after 70 minutes.

Jake Graziano made his Dorchester debut from the bench but his side went down 2-0 to Merthyr Town (dual-registration watch doesn’t have quite the same ring to it)

Down at Sherborne, the result might have gone against the Zebras, but Yeovil Under-18s striker Benjani Juniot was back on the scoresheet (are you watching, Mark Cooper?).

He got his side’s first in a 4-2 defeat at Millbrook AFC, taking him to three goals from his loan spell. The Sherborne line-up also included Under-18s’ midfielder Mason Hunter too, who appears to have also joined our friends at Sherborne for a short stint – go well, Mason.

nbsp;

Gillingham Town, were big winners, Rob Hollard has returned to the Glovers following his loan spell, so he wasn’t involved, and I couldn’t any team news to see if Sam Hodges had been involved.

Truro’s (Ollie Haste) game was postponed, as was the game between Toby Stephens‘ Plymouth Parkway and Charlie Bateson’s Tiverton Town. This allowed Bateson to turn out for the Under-18s in their 2-1 defeat at Bridgwater United.

Plenty more of these sides are playing midweek, more Loan Watch updates to come!

Another Saturday of football means it’s time once again to see how the Glovers loanees are getting on… some of them might be playing for a place on the bench at Huish Park before the season is out.

Starting in the National League where defender Ben Richards-Everton played the full 90 minutes for Scunthorpe United as they picked up a huge win at the bottom of the table, beating Wealdstone 4-1.

Oxford City were 1-0 winners in the National League South, Will Dawes was initially credited with the only goal, but an internal dubious goals panel took it off him in the game against Cheshunt.

Truro City were comfortable 3-0 winners against Bracknall Town, Ollie Haste was brought on in the 90th minute.

Striker Ollie Hulbert played the full 90 for Leamington, but they lost 3-0 away to Peterborough Sports.

Gillingham Town drew 0-0 with Bristol Telephones, team news hasn’t been made available, Rob Hollard and Sam Hodges may have been involved.

One person who definitely didn’t play was midfielder Toby Stephens who was absent from the Plymouth Parkway side.

Down at Tiverton, striker Charlie Bateson was brought on for the final few moments of their 3-3 draw with Marine.

… and finally, how about a man of the match performance from Jake Graziano? He was a stand-out performer for Sherborne Town as the Zebras drew 0-0 with Bridgwater United, fellow Glover Benjani Junior was on the bench.

Here’s a picture of Jake with a bottle of MOTM bubbly, we’re not sure he’s actually old enough to drink yet.

Another Saturday that was threatened by snow and cancellations, but actually, quite a few Glovers got some game time out on loan.

Scunthorpe United didn’t play, so Ben Richards-Everton wasn’t involved, but here’s how the rest got on.

Starting in Oxford, Will Dawes was credited with an assist and nominated for their social media man of the match as his Oxford City sidd thrashed Hemel Hempstead 3-0.

Down at Truro, the result didn’t go the White Tigers way as they lost away at Merthyr Town. Ollie Haste played nearly 80 minutes.

The other Ollie, Ollie Hulbert started for Leamington as they drew 0-0 with Chester to continue their recent upturn of results.

The YTFC academy was also well represented in the area, goalkeeper Rob Hollard and Sam Hodges were on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat as part of the Gillingham Town squad.

At Sherborne, Benjani started and Jake Graziano was used from bench as they overcame Cadbury Heath 2-1.

And finally, as the headline suggests, our main point is a debut goal for Charlie Bateson at Tiverton Town.

He was introduced from the bench with ten minutes remaining, got a couple of shots off and was credited with the equaliser in a 2-2 against Hendon.

Great work, Charlie.

It’s time for another world famous (thanks for the shout out, Sheridan) edition of the Gloverscast Loan Watch and another goal-scorer to tell you about… more on that in a minute.

Scunthorpe United picked up a big win at the bottom of the National League beating Altrincham 2-0, Ben Richards-Everton picking up the clean sheet.

In National League North, Leamington made it back to back wins, Ted Cann, Sam Perry (there’s a couple of names for you) impressed alongside Ollie Hulbert, the Glovers’ loanee played 77 minutes as the Brakes beat Brackley Town 2-1.

Now to the scorer, Will Dawes, bagged a big goal for Oxford City in his first start for them, the game ended 2-2 against Braintree Town.

nbsp;

Gillingham Town went down 5-2 against table topping Brislington… team news for the Gills appears hard to come by, we assume both Rob Hollard and Sam Hodges were involved in some way shape or form.

No game for Sherborne, they play on Wednesday against Clevedon.

Striker Charlie Bateson was named on the substitutes’ bench for Tiverton Town’s trip to Harrow Borough.

Toby Stephens (again) wasn’t in the Plymouth Parkway squad, but his side did pick up a big 2-0 win at home to Gosport Borough, whilst Truro City had a rare vacant midweek giving Ollie Haste some more time to watch his first ever senior goal on loop a few more times from the weekend.

Who says Yeovil have problems in front of goal?

Not one, not two but THREE Yeovil players were on the score sheet on Saturday as we wrap up the the loan watch action.

We start at the highest level though with Ben Richards-Everton playing the full 90 minutes as Scunthorpe went down 1-0 to Eastleigh, former Glovers Michael Kelly, Alfie Lloyd, Aaron Martin, Christian Maghoma and Jake Scrimshaw lined up for the Spitfires.

Will Dawes made his debut for Oxford City as a second half substitute as the fell to a defeat at the hands of Farnborough.

Truro left it late to grab all three points in their game against Hayes and Heading.

Our very own Ollie Haste with the late goal! You can watch it… here

To Leamington we go, where there was another Glovers goal getter, Ollie Hulbert got his first for the Brakes in a convincing 4-1 win.

Let’s have another one shall we?

Sherborne Town picked up a valuable point, who scored their goal in a 1-1 draw? That’s right, our man Benjani Jr.

Jake Graziano also played the full 90.

To Gillingham Town where they picked up a huge 3-2 win of their own with a couple of Young Glovers on show, Rob Hollard pulled off some decent saves in goal whilst Sam Hodges was introduced from the bench.

There was no sign of either Toby Stephens (Plymouth Parkway) or Charlie Bateson (Tiverton Town) in their match day squads.

Here’s little mini round up of the Tuesday night Glovers loanee action.

BR-E couldn’t back up his MOTM debut for Scunthorpe, his side were undone by two Paul ‘”Tom Daley” Mullin goals at Wrexham.

Leamington picked up a big away point at Telford to extend their unbeaten run, Ollie Hulbert played 86 minutes in the 1-1 draw.

Truro suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Poole Town, Ollie Haste was an unused substitute.

None of Gillingham, Tiverton or Sherborne had a game on Tuesday, with their respective loanees expected to be part of the Yeovil youth squad in the National League Cup on Wednesday.
